Job Description: Role Overview The Senior Fixed Assets Senior Analyst is responsible for leading accounting, reporting, and control activities across Fixed Assets, Lease Accounting, DD&A, Impairments, and Asset Transactions. This role ensures the integrity of financial reporting and compliance with IFRS, internal controls, and company policies.
The position serves as a subject matter authority in asset accounting, lease progression, depreciation, Net Book Value (NBV), and strategic transactions, while partnering with cross-functional teams to support business decisions and portfolio management.
Key Responsibilities- Lead monthly and quarterly close activities for Fixed Assets, Lease Accounting, DD&A, impairments, and asset transactions
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with IFRS, company policies, and internal controls
- Own DD&A process across all asset classes and perform variance analysis
- Lead lease progression accounting for non-producing to producing leases
- Maintain Fixed Asset Register (FAR) and CGU reporting
- Support acquisitions, divestments, swaps, and trades through financial analysis
- Review and validate transaction documentation including ATMs and financial memorandum.
- Provide assurance on NBV requests and maintain the NBV PowerApp tool
- Lead Balance Sheet Assurance (BSA) coordination and review results
- Support audits and SOX compliance
- Ensure accurate accounting for impairments, reversals, and write-offs
- Coordinate annual reserves-related accounting activities
- Partner with cross-functional teams (FBT) to support daily activities and decision-making
- Lead process improvement and automation initiatives using SAP, Power BI, PowerApps, and SAC
Crucial Education & Experience- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field
- 10+ years of experience in Fixed Assets and upstream Oil & Gas
- Proven understanding of SAP/S4 HANA (Fixed Assets & Lease Accounting)
- Strong understanding of IFRS and internal controls
- Experience with acquisitions, divestments, DD&A, impairments, and lease accounting
- Experience with Power BI, PowerApps, SAC, and automation tools
- Sophisticated Excel and financial modeling skills
- Strong analytical and stakeholder leadership skills
- Experience supporting audits, SOX, and BSA
Preferred Qualifications- CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification
- Experience in upstream Oil & Gas
- Ability to influence stakeholders and drive decisions
