Position Summary

HTS Tech is seeking an experienced Senior Fire Alarm Project Manager / Fire Alarm Specialist to lead the design, permitting, project management, programming coordination, inspection, testing, and commissioning of commercial and multifamily fire alarm systems across multiple states.

This is a management role responsible for ensuring all fire alarm projects meet applicable NFPA standards, state licensing requirements, AHJ expectations, and customer specifications while supporting the continued growth of our fire alarm division.

Required Qualifications/Certifications
  • NICET Level IV - Fire Alarm Systems (Preferred)
  • NICET Level III - Fire Alarm Systems (Minimum Consideration) Ability to obtain Level IV
  • Ability to hold a Fire Alarm Contractor License in Multiple States
  • Manufacturer Certifications (One or More):

Licensing Experience

Responsibilities
  • Manage commercial and multifamily fire alarm projects from preconstruction through closeout.
  • Review drawings and specifications for code compliance.
  • Coordinate with AHJs, engineers, owners, and general contractors.
  • Prepare RFIs, submittals, and permit documentation.
  • Oversee installation teams and subcontractors.
  • Coordinate programming and system integration.
  • Schedule inspections, acceptance testing, and commissioning.
  • Troubleshoot complex fire alarm systems.
  • Ensure compliance with NFPA 70, NFPA 72, IBC, IFC, and local codes.
  • Maintain project schedules, budgets, and documentation.
  • Mentor technicians and assist in developing the fire alarm department.
  • Support estimating and business development efforts.

Preferred Experience
  • 12+ years of commercial fire alarm experience.
  • Experience with multifamily, healthcare, senior living, hospitality, education, and mixed-use developments.
  • Strong understanding of:
    • NFPA 72
    • NEC (NFPA 70)
    • International Building Code (IBC)
    • International Fire Code (IFC)
    • ADA requirements
  • Knowledge of smoke control, voice evacuation, mass notification, elevator recall, and sprinkler monitoring systems.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
