Job Title: Senior Financial AnalystJob DescriptionThe Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for the accurate and timely preparation of financial reports, detailed analysis, and operational support to ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and financial reporting standards. This role plays a key part in month-end and year-end close, supports budgeting and forecasting processes, and provides financial insight to operational and leadership teams.
Responsibilities- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
- Perform month-end and quarter-end closing activities, including journal entries, accruals, and maintenance of the General Ledger.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts on a regular basis to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare year-end audit working papers and provide support to external and internal auditors.
- Develop and prepare ad hoc financial analyses and reports as requested by leadership and operational teams.
- Assist with the preparation of monthly financial forecasts and related variance analysis.
- Prepare weekly cash forecasting reports to support liquidity and cash management decisions.
- Develop annual operating plans and budgets, including supporting schedules and assumptions.
- Maintain accurate and complete accounting records in line with company policies and internal control requirements.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and internal control frameworks, including SOX-related controls.
- Safeguard company assets by supporting internal control reviews and remediation activities.
- Provide support for approval workflows related to financial transactions and capital expenditures.
- Administer capital expenditure approval processes, ensuring proper documentation and compliance.
- Maintain fixed asset ledgers and related administration, including additions, disposals, and depreciation.
- Respond to inquiries from department heads and provide clear, insightful financial analysis to support decision-making.
- Support operational teams with cost control initiatives, margin analysis, and forecasting support.
- Provide analytical support for continuous improvement initiatives and large-scale projects, including R&D-related activities.
- Prepare monthly HST returns and Statistics Canada reporting in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Ensure compliance with local and federal tax regulations and applicable financial reporting standards such as IFRS.
- Support intercompany accounting, P&L reporting, and balance sheet reporting as required.
Essential Skills- Strong experience in financial analysis, including variance analysis and interpretation of financial results.
- Proficiency in month-end and quarter-end closing processes, including journal entries, accruals, and General Ledger maintenance.
- Solid background in accounting and financial reporting, including preparation of financial statements and balance sheet reporting.
- Demonstrated experience with balance sheet reconciliation and maintenance of accurate accounting records.
- Knowledge of IFRS and related financial reporting requirements.
- Experience with internal controls, including SOX-related controls and compliance frameworks.
- Advanced Excel skills for financial modeling, data analysis, and reporting.
- Experience with budgeting and forecasting, including development of annual operating plans.
- Ability to prepare cash forecasting reports and support liquidity planning.
- Strong understanding of P&L, intercompany transactions, and percentage of completion accounting.
- Ability to support audits through preparation of working papers and responses to auditor inquiries.
- Experience in environments such as manufacturing or construction, with exposure to operational cost control and project-based accounting.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- background in accounting or financial analysis, supported by relevant education or professional experience.
- Experience with JDEdwards or similar ERP systems for financial and accounting processes.
- Knowledge of tax and regulatory reporting, including HST returns and Statistics Canada filings.
- Familiarity with internal control frameworks and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including operations and R&D.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Clear communication skills, with the ability to present financial information to non-financial stakeholders.

Work EnvironmentThis role is based in a professional office environment in Cambridge, Ontario, with work conducted at modern facilities. The position follows a standard full-time schedule of 40 hours per week, typically from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with a half-hour break. The work arrangement is hybrid, with two days per week in the office and the remaining time working from home, providing flexibility while maintaining collaboration with colleagues. Business casual attire is expected when working on-site. There is a possibility of overtime during peak periods such as month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close. The environment offers exposure to a large organization, complex financial structures, and large-scale R&D projects, along with the potential for extension or transition to a permanent role based on performance and organizational needs. Excel and JDEdwards are key tools used in daily work, alongside standard office and financial systems.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $40.00 - $55.00/hr.
