Full Job Description
The Senior Financial Analyst (SFA) will support the timely and accurate preparation of the internal and external monthly, quarterly and annual Financial Statements. The SFA will have strong knowledge of IFRS and will be experienced with the financial statement close process, preparing working papers, supporting the annual audit process and preparing external budget and forecasting. The SFA will be responsible for supporting the preparation of the annual budget for the business ensuring departmental submissions are reasonable.. SFA will be responsible for the accounting of transactions and will be required to have a thorough understanding of agreements with third parties.

Additionally, they will be responsible to provide ad hoc support and report building expertise to various levels of management and assist in financial and operational decision making. Will be the subject matter expert with regards to all aspects of financial data including but not limited to its extraction from various sources using available technologies.

What You'll Do;
  • Identify and build financial reporting including models and templates using a documented, auditable, and logical process.
  • Prepare monthly journal entries, account reconciliations and supporting working papers for areas designated.
  • Business Partner throughout the organization to provide insights and to ensure that financial transactions are properly recorded.
  • Support the timely preparation and submission of the financial statements for both internal and external reporting.
  • Supporting the preparation of the monthly forecast for the business.
  • Supporting the preparation of the annual budget
  • Supporting the preparation quarterly forecast and budget to our holding company.
  • Support continuous process improvement to the existing accounting processes and procedures to eliminate non-value added activities, reduce processing time and eliminate manual intervention.
  • Assist in the preparation of audit schedules as required during annual audit and working with the external auditors to complete their requirements.
  • Assist in auditing, monitoring, and improving data quality.
  • Develop and provide quantitative solutions to complex business problems.
  • Prepare, analyze and present monthly, quarterly and annual operating metrics and results for the region/stores for Canada.
  • Provide analysis, recommendations and insights in support of retail analysis initiatives and projects as directed.
  • Support the complete and accurate reporting of inventory, warehouse expenses and shipping costs.
  • Support the annual inventory count process posting and reconciling all related shrink entries and preparation of annual shrink and inventory rolls.
  • Support and maintain daily/weekly cash forecasting informing the business and supporting decisions related to financing.
  • Perform timely variance analysis of actual to plan, prior year and forecast.
  • Perform other related duties as required


What You'll Bring;
  • Post-secondary education required. Bachelor's Degree in business, math, or equivalent preferred.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Intermediate to advanced level of Excel including; Complex Formulas, Macros,
  • Experience with Cognos, Hyperion, MicroStrategy, or another enterprise grade BI software.
  • Experience extracting and analyzing data from a data warehouse system.
  • Familiarity with an ERP system (e.g. D365 MS Dynamics)
  • Ability to manage work flow and multiple requests, while meeting deadlines and managing expectations
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
