About the Role

The Senior Financial Analyst assumes a leadership role in the preparation of annual financial statements, accounting for complex financial transactions, and reporting; designs and develops a range of financial reports and financial accounting structures for the University's financial operations. Provides advice and guidance in the development, design and functional evaluation of a range of ad hoc and routine reports. Provides a senior level of professional advice, consultation and problem resolution to University faculty and staff regarding the financial implications of accounting and administrative financial policies, procedures, and practices for all funds.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Business Administration or a related discipline, professional accounting designation (CPA) and seven years of related work experience including experience in financial management within a corporate or university environment, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Excellent financial analysis, budget planning and financial management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, inter-cultural and communication (both oral and written) skills.
  • Ability to develop relationships and partnerships and to work collaboratively at all levels and areas within the organization.
