Full Job Description
As a Financial Analyst supporting the Innovation, Technology, and Products (ITP) organization at Micron Technology, Inc., you will support financial planning, reporting, and cost allocation activities for the engineering organization. Through strong analytical skills and attention to detail, you will help ensure accurate financial reporting and provide analysis that supports informed business decisions.

A significant portion of this role will focus on executing and maintaining the Engineering Cost Model (ECM), which allocates Micron's engineering expenses across the technologies and programs that engineering supports. The model is a key input to investment analysis and resource planning, helping leaders understand where engineering resources are being invested and how investments are evolving over time.

This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop expertise in financial modeling, business analytics, cost allocations, and automation while gaining exposure to Micron's engineering organization, technology roadmap, and innovation investments.

Key Responsibilities

Engineering Cost Modeling & Investment Analytics
  • Own the monthly and quarterly execution of the ECM, which allocates engineering investments across Micron's product, technology, and development portfolios
  • Perform data collection, validation, reconciliation, and analysis to ensure model accuracy and completeness
  • Produce allocation outputs and supporting analyses used to evaluate investment trends, resource deployment, and strategic priorities
  • Maintain model documentation and controls while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency through automation and process enhancements

Business Partnering
  • Support a designated engineering organization through planning, forecasting, reporting, and budget management activities
  • Provide financial analysis and decision support to help leaders evaluate spending, resource allocation, and investment opportunities
  • Build collaborative relationships with business partners to understand priorities, communicate financial results, and support informed decision making

Financial Planning & Analysis
  • Support planning, forecasting, budgeting, and business review processes for R&D organizations
  • Prepare financial analyses and models to evaluate spending trends, resource requirements, and business performance
  • Monitor financial results versus plan and investigate significant variances

  • 1-4 years of experience in finance, accounting, analytics, or a related business function
  • Experience working with large datasets, financial models, reporting tools, or analytical processes
