Job Summary

The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for providing advanced financial planning, analysis, modeling, and reporting support to help leadership understand performance, evaluate risks and opportunities, and make data-driven decisions. This role supports budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, variance analysis, department manager partnership, and strategic financial modeling. The position is expected to be a strong individual contributor who can own complex analyses, support special projects and due diligence, and help improve FP&A processes as the company expands its planning and reporting capabilities in OneStream. The Senior Financial Analyst will partner with the FP&A Manager, Finance leadership, Accounting, Operations, HR, Sales, IT, and other cross-functional stakeholders.

Responsibilities and Duties

Essential Functions:

  • Support the recurring FP&A cadence, including monthly financial reporting, variance analysis, recurring forecasts, annual budgeting, and long-range planning.
  • Compile, consolidate, and analyze financial and operational data for forecasts, budgets, long-range plans, management reporting, and strategic decision support.
  • Perform detailed variance analysis of actual results against budget, forecast, and prior periods, identifying root causes, risks, opportunities, and recommended actions.
  • Build and maintain financial models for scenario analysis, cash flow forecasting, investment evaluation, acquisition or diligence support, forecast sensitivity analysis, and special projects.
  • Prepare concise, executive-ready materials, dashboards, and presentations that communicate financial results, business drivers, trends, and recommendations.
  • Partner with department managers and functional leaders to gather forecast inputs, review material variances, assess assumptions, and improve forecast accuracy.
  • Support revenue, margin, backlog, labor, SG&A, capital expenditure, balance sheet, and cash flow analyses at the appropriate summary level, while coordinating with Accounting, Project Controls, and Operations as needed.
  • Assist with OneStream planning and reporting activities, including report design, data validation, planning forms, workflow testing, documentation, and user support.
  • Identify opportunities to improve reporting, forecasting, automation, data accuracy, documentation, and process efficiency.
  • Collaborate with FP&A team members to cross-train, document recurring processes, and maintain consistent standards for analytical quality and timeliness.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of management to support analysis, issue resolution, information requests, and decision-making.
  • Perform additional responsibilities, recurring analyses, and special projects as assigned.
    Qualifications and KSAs
    Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field
      Experience:
    • CPA, CFA, CMA, or FPAC designation preferred but not required
      Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Minimum of 4-6 years of progressive experience in FP&A, corporate finance, business finance, financial analysis, or accounting with significant planning and analysis exposure.
  • Demonstrated ability to extract, analyze, interpret, and synthesize complex financial data into clear insights and concise reporting.
  • Strong financial modeling, forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, and business case analysis experience required.
  • Experience supporting special projects, capital planning, strategic initiatives, M&A, acquisition diligence, or integration analysis preferred.
  • Prior experience in construction, infrastructure, manufacturing, utilities, project-based, or PE-backed environments strongly preferred.
  • Advanced Excel required; experience with Power BI, SQL, ERP systems, and financial reporting/planning platforms preferred.
  • OneStream experience is preferred but not required; experience with comparable tools such as Oracle EPM, Hyperion, Anaplan, Adaptive Planning, Planful, Vena, or similar platforms is also valuable.
  • Working knowledge of GAAP and financial statement relationships preferred.
    Certifications/Licenses:
  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills, including scenario modeling, sensitivity analysis, complex formulas, pivots, and model documentation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to connect financial results to operational drivers and business actions.
  • Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and concisely to financial and non-financial stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail, data integrity, quality control, and thoughtful review of analytical outputs.
  • Ability to independently manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and produce high-quality work with limited supervision.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to build productive relationships with department managers, Accounting, Operations, HR, Sales, IT, and Finance leadership.
  • High curiosity and continuous-improvement mindset, with interest in automation, standardized reporting, and scalable FP&A processes.
  • Ability to support system-enabled planning and reporting transformation, including requirements gathering, user acceptance testing, documentation, and training support.
