Job Description

The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for conducting in-depth financial analysis, forecasting, budgeting, and reporting to support strategic decision-making. This role involves analyzing financial data, identifying trends, preparing detailed reports, and providing actionable insights to management. The Senior Financial Analyst collaborates with various departments to develop financial models, evaluate business performance, and recommend improvements to optimize financial outcomes. Strong expertise in financial software, advanced Excel skills, and a solid understanding of accounting principles are essential. Additionally, this position requires excellent communication skills to present complex financial information clearly to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts quantitative analyses of information affecting budgets, expenses, and other financial projects of public or private institutions.
  • Collects and analyzes financial information for assigned accounts, products or product lines, or business units in order to track the organization's progress against financial goals.
  • Reports current or expected financial performance and creates financial models to guide decision making.
  • Analyzes cash flow, expenditures, revenue, depreciation, and investments to make recommendations for action and/or modifications regarding financial procedures, plans, and controls.
  • Assists in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, or annual financial statements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Bachelor's degree -OR- equivalent combination of related education and experience plus a minimum of three (3) years of related experience.
• Senate Bill 1310- The Florida Senate (https://www.flsenate.gov/Session/Bill/2023/1310) is conditional upon meeting all employment eligibility requirements in the U.S.
• SB 1310: Substitution of Work Experience for Postsecondary Education Requirements
• A public employer may include a postsecondary degree as a baseline requirement only as an
alternative to the number of years of direct experience required, not to exceed:
• (a) Two years of direct experience for an associate degree;
• (b) Four years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree;
• (c) Six years of direct experience for a master's degree;
• (d) Seven years of direct experience for a professional degree; or
• (e) Nine years of direct experience for a doctoral degree
• Related work experience may not substitute for any required licensure, certification, or registration
required for the position of employment as established by the public employer and indicated in the
advertised description of the position of employment.
• Minimum Qualifications that require a high school diploma are exempt from SB 1310.
