ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND PURPOSE The position will include the following functions:
- Tracks and monitors variances to plans.
- Interprets detailed cost accounting information and exercises discretion and creativity on assignments of a varied, diverse and challenging nature.
- Maintains and reconciles fixed asset system
- Assists in solving problems in areas where no precedent exists.
POSITION DEMANDSA bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or other business-related field is required. Professional designation or MBA preferred. Candidate must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in an accounting or financial environment. Previous analytical or reporting financial role in a public company is preferred. Previous financial role for a government contractor, a plus. Ability to effectively take on leadership roles in various functions is required. Microsoft Excel expertise is required. Deltek CostPoint experience, a plus. Excellent analytical, conceptual, communication and interpersonal skills. Strong initiative and ability to manage competing priorities; willing to work evenings and weekends when necessary.

WORKING RELATIONSHIPSReports to the Director of Financial Reporting. Interfaces with senior leadership and department heads. Maintains regular communication with Finance personnel and other company personnel as necessary. Periodic interface with external auditors will be required.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES - Preparation and submission of monthly, quarterly and yearly financial reports to parent company.
- Preparation and analysis of monthly actuals versus plan management reports.
- Investigate, analyze, interpret, and communicate forecasted variances to management.
- Provide quarterly updates of current year financial forecasts to be reported for consolidation and public interests.
- Support SOX compliance efforts to include controls set-up, monitoring, and section 404 testing requirements.
- Support corporate tax, insurance and risk management requirements, as needed
- Assist with complex analytical trouble-shooting and problem resolution
- Assist in capital budgeting process; provide fixed asset projections and variance analysis between budgets to actuals.
- Develop, maintain and distribute ad-hoc reports and financial models, as needed
ACCOUNTABILITY - Maintains the fixed asset system, SAGE FAS, coordinates periodic inventory, and books all related entries such as initial capitalization, depreciation, sales and disposals of assets.
