We9re looking for a
Senior Financial Accountant based in
Markham, ON (Hybrid) reporting to the Manager of Financial Reporting and Accounting. In this hands-on role supporting a number of Xplore subsidiaries, you9ll help drive a smooth month-end close, deliver accurate reconciliations, and lead key intercompany processes. You9ll work with IFRS-based reporting, partner with stakeholders across the business, and bring your strong Excel and ERP experience to continuously deliver on an accurate and efficient month-end close and impact period-end reporting.
Key Responsibilities Include:- Own the preparation and posting of monthly journal entries and period-end bank reconciliations, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
- Prepare month-end entries and reconciliations for additional balance sheet accounts, proactively investigating and resolving variances.
- Coordinate the filing of sales tax returns for Xplore subsidiaries, supporting timely and compliant submissions.
- Partner with external auditors during annual financial statement audits by preparing schedules, responding to inquiries, and strengthening documentation.
- Lead monthly intercompany activities, including compiling inputs, calculating cross-charges, coordinating intercompany invoicing, and recording elimination entries.
- Deliver ad-hoc analysis and process improvements, helping the team continuously enhance close efficiency and reporting quality.
The ideal candidate will possess:- 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in a multi-entity environment.
- Bachelor9s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Strong working knowledge of IFRS and a commitment to high-quality financial reporting.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, lookups, data analysis).
- Experience with ERP financial systems (SAP preferred) and comfort working across multiple systems and data sources.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to thrive with changing priorities and tight deadlines-especially during month-end.
- Clear, confident communicator who enjoys collaborating with cross-functional partners.
- Telecommunications industry experience or exposure is considered an asset.
