The Senior Finance Analyst will provide financial support for an assigned manufacturing area and for a variety of staff functions.  Assists operating management in the understanding and controlling of costs through the ongoing review and analysis of divisional operating statements, operating expense budgets, and manufacturing variances. Coordinates the factory planning process for a particular area including budget preparation and standard cost analysis.  Also coordinates the monthly manufacturing variance projection process for his/her area.  Responsible for assisting in the cycle count and inventory variance analysis monthly.  Will be required to perform financial analysis on new equipment, new products, marketing programs/promotions or any other item which impacts profitability. In addition, assist in policy, procedure, and process development.  

Onsite - Hattiesburg, Mississippi

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Assists all levels of operating management in analyzing and understanding actual costs and variances through the creation of ongoing reports and the preparation of special studies.  The research involved in these special studies will result in improved reporting systems relating to budgeted and actual labor, burden, and material cost components.

  • Develop financial analysis on the Consumer Ride and Commercial product lines. Interpret and communicate in a straightforward manner. Analyze and quantify business activities and decisions in financial terms.

  • Assist in the review and revision of product standard costs and the establishment of new product costs. Areas of special emphasis include the coordination of operating budget preparation for the division, the review of all material costs, labor costs, indirect manufacturing expenses, other manufacturing costs, warehouse and shipping, and other items impacting standard cost accuracy. 

  • Responsible for continuously improving the businesses financial processes from a quality and productivity perspective. Use benchmarking, technology, and best practice information to gain perspective. Use of disciplined continuous improvement techniques is encouraged.

  • Assist manufacturing in the preparation of monthly variance projections.  This includes projections of production levels and total spending.  Also responsible for isssuing during the month tracking reports to monitor our performance against the projection. 

  • Assists in cycle count reporting and analysis.  Ensure the operations team are performing adequate sku counts, total inventory value coverage and frequency of counting.  Performing analysis for variance reporting of inventory.

  • Be a resource for others. Serve as a trainer and resource to plant personnel, ensuring the plants utilize finance standard reporting, processes, and controls. Assist non-financial readers in interpreting results.

  • Assist with any vendor invoices received locally and ensure they are properly screened and transmitted to Accounts Payable function for payment.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance. 

  • 1-3 years of experience in accounting, preferably in a manufacturing support role.

  • Experience in SAP financial reporting is also desirable.

The Salary range for this position is $79,500.00-$100,450.00 The specific Salary rate offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location.
