Job: Sr. Federal Superintendent

Location: Traveling/Project Sites Across the U.S.

We're looking for an experienced Sr. Federal Superintendent to lead large-scale and complex Federal construction projects from groundbreaking through close-out. As GBA Builders' senior field authority, this role is critical to ensuring safety, quality, schedule, and cost objectives are achieved while fostering a collaborative, high-performing field environment. The Sr. Federal Superintendent provides strategic direction to field teams, resolves high-level issues, and ensures project delivery aligns with company standards and client expectations.
What You'll Do
  • Provide overall leadership and direction to field operations on assigned projects
  • Oversee and coordinate all on-site construction activities, ensuring strict adherence to safety regulations, quality standards, and project specifications.
  • Manage site logistics, subcontractor performance, inspections, and construction sequencing.
  • Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Owners, Architects, and Engineers to ensure clear communication and alignment on goals.
  • Conduct weekly foremen meetings and lead pre-installation and critical path planning sessions.
  • Develop, manage, and distribute detailed 3-week look-ahead schedules in coordination with the master project schedule.
  • Implement and maintain rigorous quality control processes and documentation.
  • Lead project close-out efforts, including punch list completion, turnover documentation, and warranty planning.
  • Mentor, coach, and evaluate field staff, promoting career development and performance excellence.
  • Serve as a senior resource in resolving complex field issues and adapting to changing site conditions.
  • Travel to and from job sites as needed to support field operations.
  • Operating a motor vehicle on behalf of the company as an essential function of the role.
  • Other duties as assigned.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field AND 15+ years of relevant experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in the construction of Federal projects is strongly preferred.
  • Partnership approach to working with contractors, designers and clients.
  • MS Office Suite knowledge and excellent computer skills
  • Proficiency in MS Project
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to build and lead a team
  • Self-motivation with good time management skills
  • OSHA-30 certification required.
  • Travel is required
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
  • Ability to climb ladders, scaffolds, and stairs.
  • Exposure to all outdoor weather conditions, including heat, cold, precipitation, and wind.
  • Use of safety equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Exposure to confined spaces as part of job site conditions.
  • Exposure to high noise levels typical of job sites.
Travel
  • Full-time U.S. travel with home every other weekend.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
