POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Facilities Manager leads the daily operation, reliability, and overall facilities experience across Sony PlayStation locations in San Diego and Orange County within a fast-paced environment in the video game industry. This role provides direct leadership to a team of facilities and engineering professionals and serves as a key liaison between Cushman & Wakefield and Sony PlayStation.
The Senior Facilities Manager is responsible for ensuring buildings, systems, vendors, and services operate safely, efficiently, and at a high standard to support employees and business operations. This position oversees facility operations, engineering and maintenance programs, vendor performance, financial management, client relationships, team development, KPIs, and long-term facility needs across the portfolio.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Lead day-to-day facilities operations across assigned Sony PlayStation locations in San Diego and Orange County, ensuring facilities are safe, reliable, well-maintained, and consistently operated to a high standard.
• Provide direct leadership, coaching, and development to a team of facilities and engineering professionals. Establish clear expectations, priorities, accountability, and performance standards across the team.
• Serve as a primary facilities liaison between Cushman & Wakefield and Sony PlayStation, developing strong relationships with key client stakeholders and maintaining proactive communication regarding site operations, priorities, risks, projects, and business needs.
• Oversee delivery of facility services including engineering and maintenance, janitorial, landscaping, life safety, waste management, pest control, building systems, and other contracted services.
• Lead preventive and corrective maintenance programs for building systems and equipment, with an emphasis on reliability, lifecycle management, business continuity, and minimizing operational disruptions.
• Ensure the facilities and engineering teams provide positive, proactive, and timely responses to client and employee needs while maintaining appropriate priorities and service levels.
• Develop a proactive operating culture that anticipates client and facility needs, identifies risks early, and addresses issues before they impact business operations.
• Manage third-party vendors and service contracts, including vendor performance, scope compliance, service quality, pricing, invoicing, and ongoing performance reviews.
• Support sourcing activities and RFPs, evaluate vendor proposals, identify opportunities for cost savings and operational efficiencies, and ensure services are delivered in accordance with contractual requirements.
• Own financial performance for the assigned portfolio, including annual budgeting, forecasting, accruals, variance analysis and commentary, purchase orders, invoice management, and ongoing expense tracking.
• Prepare and deliver monthly and quarterly financial and operational reporting, providing clear explanations of performance, risks, trends, and corrective actions as needed.
• Support annual capital planning and development of multi-year facility plans, including equipment lifecycle replacement, infrastructure improvements, deferred maintenance, facility improvements, and cost-reduction opportunities.
• Utilize CMMS/work-order data, KPIs, service metrics, site inspections, and other operational information to evaluate performance, identify recurring issues or service gaps, and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain a strong understanding of building infrastructure, critical systems, and operational risks across the portfolio and ensure appropriate escalation and response when issues arise.
• Coordinate planned shutdowns, critical maintenance, emergency repairs, and other activities that may impact business operations, including after-hours and weekend work when required.
• Partner closely with client teams, landlords and property management, Security, IT, EH&S, Project Management, Workplace, vendors, and other stakeholders to coordinate activities and support business objectives.
• Lead facilities support for projects, renovations, moves, events, and other business initiatives as required, ensuring appropriate planning, communication, resource allocation, and operational readiness.
• Recruit, onboard, train, develop, and retain facilities and engineering personnel. Conduct performance reviews, provide ongoing coaching and feedback, and support career development and succession planning.
• Promote a strong culture of safety and ensure compliance with applicable Cushman & Wakefield policies, client requirements, regulatory requirements, environmental health and safety standards, and established operating procedures.
• Support emergency preparedness, incident response, business continuity, and escalation protocols across the assigned portfolio.
• Drive continuous improvement by identifying and implementing best practices, process improvements, technology, cost-saving opportunities, and innovative solutions that improve the employee experience and overall facility performance.
