Role Definition
Provides maintenance, installation, and consulting support for building and infrastructure requirements of a manufacturing facility or site.

Responsibilities
• Leading facilities related projects.
• Communicating with suppliers' technical support to address equipment or infrastructure disruptions.
• Performing routine-to-complex engineering work potentially on multiple or large facilities.
• Manages planning, execution and control of small to medium scope facilities projects. Provides products and services to clients requirements.

• Employs process flows, cycle time, process time and waste concepts as appropriate.

• Evaluates placement results of staff and equipment according to space planning and requirements.
• Coaches others on how to coordinate and maintain the flow of electricity within a physical space.
• Monitors environmental, safety and equipment requirements and conditions.
• Monitors and updates processes and procedures to develop and maintain security in the workplace.
• Interacts with customers and vendor support staff to resolve complicated problems.
• Participates in coordinating the design and construction of new or enhanced facilities.

Emergency Management: Knowledge of emergency management tools and techniques in a manufacturing organization; ability to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from an emergency.

• Simulates and tests plant-wide emergencies, facility evacuation and shut-down procedures.
• Plans for and deals with different types of emergencies.
• Participates in vulnerability assessments or worksite analyses.
• Negotiates agreements for stand-by or back-up production facilities, coordinates during emergency.
• Maintains emergency communication network and equipment and role of a communications center.
• Trains others on procedures for accounting for employees after emergency evacuation.

Troubleshooting Technical Problems: Knowledge of troubleshooting approaches, tools and techniques; ability to anticipate, detect and resolve technical problems in a manufacturing environment.
Level Extensive Experience:
• Evaluates business impact of failure and the criticality and timing of needed resolution.
• Resolves difficult or high-impact equipment and systems problems.
• Monitors machine performance and history; addresses excessive maintenance or repair needs.
• Coaches others how to resolve integration or communications problems in multi-vendor environment.
• Applies specific techniques for isolating a problem and defining resolution approach.
• Uses advanced diagnostic techniques and tools for unusual or performance-related problems.

Desired Qualification

Proficiency in Microsoft tools and applications

Demonstrated experience managing large scale projects

Strong, demonstrated problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.

OSHA certification

Preferred Qualifications

Experience leading projects in either construction, maintenance or facilities

Understanding of mechanical principles or mechanical aptitude

Experience with budgeting or financial oversight

$112,704.00 - $169,056.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
