Job DescriptionThis OpportunityWSP is currently initiating a search for a Senior Estimator to join our Project Controls team. This individual can be based out of either our Washington DC, Columbia MD, or Herndon VA office.

Your Impact Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepares work to be estimated by gathering drawings, specifications, and related documents for various disciplines.
- Identifies labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, drawings, specifications, and related documents.
- Computes costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements.
- Resolves discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
- Presents prepared estimate by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information.
- Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Maintains cost database by entering and backing up data.
- Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
Who You Are Minimum Qualifications:
- 10 years related experience in transit electrical estimating (facilities, systems, infrastructure)
- Bachelor of Science degree in a relevant Engineering discipline (e.g. Civil Engineering), Construction Management, or equivalent
- Demonstrated skill/experience in development of Conceptual through Bid Document crew-based or unit price cost estimates
- Strong knowledge of On-Screen Takeoff or Bluebeam software and MS Office applications.
- Able to read plans and develop cost estimates
- Strong understanding of construction processes
- Able to demonstrate progressively-increasing responsibility in estimating, working effectively with minimal supervision.
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
Preferred Qualifications:
- Working knowledge in use of HCSS HeavyBid, Sage Timberline, and/or other estimating software applications
- Experience in architectural and mechanical estimating is also a plus
- Construction contractor estimating experience

Compensation:
Expected Salary (all locations): $165,000-185,000/yr
WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant's sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
