Job Title: Senior Estimator

About this opportunity
Owen-Ames-Kimball Co. is hiring a Senior Estimator in our Fort Myers, FL office that will lead complex estimating efforts for commercial construction projects, delivering accurate, competitive bids from early concept through final proposal. This role partners with our operations team internally, as well as outside stakeholders to develop cost strategies, manage detailed estimates, and support successful project pursuits while mentoring junior team members.
What you'll do
- Lead conceptual through detailed estimates across all construction disciplines
- Perform quantity takeoffs, cost modeling, and subcontractor bid leveling
- Analyze drawings, specifications, and market conditions to develop accurate pricing
- Manage subcontractor outreach, bid packages, and proposal evaluations
- Support value engineering and identify cost-saving opportunities
- Collaborate with design teams, project managers, and leadership on pricing strategy and risk analysis
- Prepare bid summaries, presentations, and final proposal submissions
- Track market trends, maintain cost data, and improve estimating processes
- Mentor and support junior estimators and preconstruction team members
What we're looking for
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field
- 8+ years of commercial construction estimating experience, including complex projects
- Expertise in conceptual estimating, takeoffs, and multi-discipline cost development
- Strong knowledge of construction means and methods, materials, and market conditions
- Experience with both general contracting and construction management delivery models
- Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills
