  • Obtain bids from vendors and subcontractors, negotiate pricing, and specify materials
  • Maintain cost keys and price masters, resolving discrepancies through analysis
  • Prepare special reports by gathering, analyzing, and summarizing cost data
  • Ensure high-quality service by adhering to organizational standards

The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Estimator to join our team in the Construction and Data Center Industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction estimating, with expertise in concrete, tilt-up, and commercial flatwork, and experience in the data center sector. The Senior Estimator will play a pivotal role in preparing accurate cost estimates and ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.

What you will do?
  • Gather necessary information and requirements, set priorities, and prepare work for estimation.
  • Perform quantity takeoffs for materials and labor to develop accurate production estimates.
  • Analyze construction drawings, interpret specifications, and ensuring accurate cost projections for each elevation.
  • Prepare detailed construction budgets by reviewing construction plans, updating specifications, and identifying costs associated with each phase of the project.
  • Evaluate offers to purchase, cost changes, additions, and site requirements, ensuring they align with budget constraints.
  • Obtain bids from vendors and subcontractors, specify materials, identify qualified subcontractors, and negotiate pricing.
  • Maintain cost keys and price masters by updating information, and resolve cost discrepancies through data collection and analysis.
  • Prepare special reports by gathering, analyzing, and summarizing cost data and project trends.
  • Maintain high-quality service by adhering to organizational standards and procedures.
  • Ensure continuity among corporate, division, and local teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and ongoing needs.
  • Keep up to date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and standards by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and participating in relevant professional societies.
  • Work closely with Project Management to develop proposals, coordinate with Construction Management on production rates, schedule milestones, and job sequencing.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, 8+ years preferred
  • Quality focused
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and communication skills
  • Strong budget and documentation skills
  • Vendor relationship management experience
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook plus Adobe
  • Working knowledge of Construction Scheduling

  • Ability to identify and resolve complex issues, strong decision-making skills
