Job Description

Egis is seeking an experienced Senior Environmental Planner / Project Manager to lead complex, multidisciplinary infrastructure and environmental projects across Ontario and Canada. This role will focus on environmental assessment, permitting, regulatory approvals, stakeholder coordination, and project delivery primarily within the infrastructure sector, with experience in mining, rail, and nuclear sectors considered an asset.

The successful candidate will provide strategic and technical leadership throughout all phases of project development, from planning and environmental assessment through permitting, detailed design support, and implementation. The role also includes mentoring staff, supporting business development initiatives, and contributing to the continued growth of Egis' environmental planning practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and oversee Environmental Assessments (EA) across federal, provincial, and municipal frameworks, including MTO and Municipal Class EA processes
  • Provide technical leadership and strategic direction on complex infrastructure and environmental projects
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams, including coordination of technical specialists, subcontractors, and project stakeholders
  • Manage project scope, budgets, schedules, quality assurance, and overall financial performance
  • Coordinate with clients, regulatory agencies, Indigenous communities, and stakeholders to support project approvals and delivery
  • Lead permitting and regulatory approvals strategies and support environmental compliance initiatives
  • Prepare, review, and oversee technical reports, environmental documentation, proposals, and regulatory submissions
  • Serve as a senior client contact and trusted advisor throughout project execution
  • Mentor and support the development of junior and intermediate staff
  • Support business development activities, including proposal preparation, client relationship development, and market growth initiatives
  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of project management practices and environmental planning methodologies


Qualifications
  • Degree in Environmental Planning, Environmental Science, Geography, Environmental Studies, Urban Planning, or related discipline
  • 15 years of experience in environmental consulting, environmental assessment, and infrastructure project delivery
  • Strong working knowledge of MTO and Municipal Class EA processes, Provincial EA frameworks, Canadian Impact Assessment processes, and environmental permitting and regulatory approvals
  • Ability to obtain RAQs certification
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex multidisciplinary projects and client relationships
  • Strong understanding of infrastructure planning, design integration, and regulatory strategy
  • Experience with mining, nuclear, and/or rail sector projects considered an asset
  • Proven leadership, project management, and business development capabilities
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and collaboration skills
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as required
