Overview

TRC is seeking a Senior Environmental Permitting & Compliance Specialist for our growing Environmental, Health and Safety team in Bellevue, WA.

The successful candidate will be a highly motivated individual and results-oriented leader who works with stakeholders to understand project needs and manages teams to deliver services to meet those requirements. The Senior Environmental Permitting & Compliance Specialist is responsible for networking with clients to identify and define projects, developing and negotiating proposals, building teams of technical staff and sub-consultants to execute work, maintaining quality and risk management processes to keep work on track, and delivering according to scope, schedule, and budget.

Responsibilities

  • Environmental compliance assurance, program and procedure development, training, and project management.
  • Support development and implementation of Environmental Management Systems, compliance assessments and audits to ensure effective risk control and regulatory compliance.
  • Perform and manage environmental compliance duties including, but not limited to: air quality permitting and compliance, SPCC planning, NPDES/storm water permitting and reporting, EPCRA Tier II and TRI reporting, wastewater permitting and compliance, and hazardous waste compliance management, including characterization, handling, storage, transportation and disposal activities.
  • Provide compliance and regulatory support for multiple clients and facilities.
  • Interface with regulatory agencies for permit development and compliance.
  • Strong technical writing and data management, organizational and communication skills.
  • Prepare client deliverables.
  • Appropriately delegate project assignments to project teams and mentor junior staff.
  • Experience to manage, and monitor project budgets, scopes, project deliverable quality, and schedules; demonstrate the ability to lead and manage compliance projects.
  • Experience in writing proposals and setting budget to clients.
  • Client relationship management and growth.
  • Work with client account managers and account teams to meet client expectations and increase services provided to the client.
  • Maintain a billable utilization target.
  • Apply quality assurance and quality control procedures.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Sciences, or related degree from an accredited university; M.S. degree preferred.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in industrial multi-media environmental compliance in a consulting environment with various manufacturing and commercial environments across targeted industries. Focus on the following areas: environmental compliance and knowledge of CAA, RCRA, EPCRA, NPDES, SPCC, SWPPP, etc.
  • Professional Engineering or another professional licensure preferred but not required.
  • Previous experience and familiarity with federal and WA state environmental regulations in various industries, including retail, high technology, food & beverage, power generation, forest products, and other sectors.
  • Demonstrated success in project and client management.
  • Ability to develop a positive relationship with our clients and employees.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check, drug screen, physical and motor vehicle records check.
  • Valid driver's license is required

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.

Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company's annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.

Salary Range

USD $128,544.00 - USD $150,000.00 /Yr.
