DescriptionAs a Senior Engineer, you will perform work in the planning and design of transportation and public works projects that may include highways, freeways, interchanges, streets, airports, public utility infrastructure, and public-use facilities. As a Senior Engineer, you'll be responsible for the design and execution of our client's projects with the support of our talented staff. In addition to project and client management, our Senior Engineer's aid in the mentorship and development of our staff.
A day in the life as a Wood Rodgers' Senior Engineer- Provide design and project management services with a focus on public sector clients.
- Prepare design calculations, reports, and technical documentation in a clear, concise, and visual manner.
- Communicate with our clients and agency staff in a manner that supports Wood Rodgers' standard of care and exceptional service.
- Interface with the public through workshops, presentations, technical and stakeholder meetings.
- Understand common public sector requirements, federal guidance, and agency policies.
- Collaborate with our project team to lead, mentor, and execute our projects including maintaining project budgets, scheduling day-to-day tasks, and meet project deadlines.
- Be a positive influence on our exceptional office and company culture.
- Mentor entry level staff to produce quality work while fostering a positive work environment.
Qualifications & Skills- Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution.
- California Professional Engineering (PE) License.
- 10+ years of experience performing the essential duties listed above.
- Computer literate in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, and other design software
- Proficiency in the application of the agency design standards, both local and federal.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for this role. You should be able to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, present technical information to clients and stakeholders, and build strong professional relationships.
- Construction and field experience in the areas of highway, roadway, or airport projects.
- Previous project management experience in transportation or public work type projects.
