Full Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic Senior Engineer to lead the hardware development projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordination, implementation and performance of engineering activities as it relates to projects within AMA Division.

Responsibilities
  • Direct hardware engineering; coordination of mechanical and electrical designers, test teams, technicians, software leads, management, and external organizations.
  • Lead hardware development from a global perspective. Develop an integrated design direction across numerous vehicles and systems. Initiate best practices in DFx, materials selection, and fabrication practices. Establish a rigorous testing and reliability program. Perform scientific studies to improve overall engineering performance.
  • Direct the development of engineering processes, including design/fabrication/integration methodology, engineering data management (PDM, PLM, ERP, ECO, etc), and quality control.
  • Create, maintain, and communicate project schedules, generate budgets, monitor cost and lead time impacts, generate contingency plans for unexpected events
  • Generate and delegate clear, well-defined tasking for the team
  • Provide guidance and mentoring for more junior engineers when necessary
  • Interface with the program sponsor. Communicate technical developments as well as project status. Represent the organization.

Requirements
  • BS degree in Engineer; electrical, mechanical, or systems.
  • At least eight years of industry or academic or government research experience.
  • Demonstrated previous technical leadership role in fast-paced hardware R&D environment.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with engineers, technicians, scientists, software developers, and DOD personnel.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle complex hardware engineering projects, schedules, and budgets.
  • Experience in and understanding of the product development cycle, and proficiency in PD management tools (ie, PDM, PLM, ERP, ECO, etc)
  • Excellent organization and communication abilities.
