About the OpportunityWe are looking to hire a
Senior Engineer - Long Term Planning to join our
Timmins Operations in
Timmins, ON., on a
full-time basis. The schedule for this position is Monday-Friday, 8 hrs/day or 4 on, 3 off, 10hrs/day.
Remote work option, with occasional site visits will be considered for the right candidate.Compensation: This position offers a salary range of $125,000 - $150,000 annually, based on qualifications and experience.

existing vacancy. The successful candidate may begin as soon as possible.
The role of the Senior Engineer is accountable for managing the long-term planning and mine designs for Timmins Operations to optimize economic production of the ore reserve with safety inherent in their design.
Reporting to the Engineering Manager or designate, the Senior Engineer - Long term Planning will have the following responsibilities:
- Perform scenario analysis to determine an optimized mining strategy for the Timmins Operations project pipeline.
- Perform economic analyses and seek to maximize value.
- Prepare summary presentations of evaluations to gain stakeholder support and communicate LOM strategy.
- Monitor and communicate with the short-term and medium-term production teams, and gain adherence to long-term mining plans and resource allocations.
- Provide guidance to medium-term planners on opportunities and risks identified in the rolling forecasts.
- Participate in annual mineral reserves and resources, life-of-mine and budgeting processes for Timmins Operations.
- Drive underground mining studies, including cost estimates, trade-off studies, reviewing mining methods, equipment selection and supporting infrastructure.
- Assist with special projects that arise within the planning and projects teams.
- Coordinate with multiple subject matter expert consultants as needed.
- Participate actively in training programs, personal improvement, and job improvement initiatives.
- Continually develop the ability, knowledge, and skills necessary to keep up with the changing methods and technology in the job.
- Perform other duties as requested.
More About YouWhile our ideal candidate has the following qualifications, we welcome applicants who may not meet every criterion to apply.
The following will be critical to successfully performing this role:
- Must possess a minimum of 5 years of planning and scheduling experience in underground mine operations.
- Accreditation as a fully qualified Professional Engineer in good standing is considered an added advantage.
- Knowledge of Deswik.CAD and Deswik.IS required.
- Comprehensive knowledge of engineering principles, theories, and techniques as they apply to ore body evaluation and underground mine operations.
- Strong initiative and work ethic as well as innovative and analytical thinking.
- Strong communication skills and excellent organizational and time management skills are required.
- Must be able to work independently and within a team structure.
- Ability to effectively prioritize job duties and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, MS Project, PowerPoint)
- Good understanding of financial modelling for preparing budget, reserves and LOM reports.
- Applicants must be eligible to work in Canada.
