Join us as a Test Engineer and play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality, secure software solutions.The Test Engineer is responsible for managing, testing, validating, and documenting Foxboro DCS and Foxboro SDA systems to ensure the reliability, stability, performance, and security of Schneider Electric solutions under development. This role supports the testing and validation of workstation and server platforms, network infrastructure, firmware releases, and hardware components within an integrated system of products from the Schneider Electric portfolio.
The Test Engineer works closely with engineering, development, cybersecurity, quality, and product management teams, manages lab environments, evaluates new technologies, and verifies compatibility between the different components of the Foxboro DCS or Foxboro SDA systems. The position requires a hands-on approach within a laboratory environment and is primarily based on-site in Foxboro, Massachusetts. The successful candidate will apply strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills to identify issues, verify product functionality, and ensure product quality and reliability.
The Test Engineer must be able to work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced engineering and laboratory environment while meeting project deadlines and testing milestones. The position requires the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize competing tasks, and adapt to changing project requirements.

- Develop, execute, and maintain test plans, test cases, and validation procedures for Foxboro DCS and SDA components.
- Evaluate new hardware platforms, operating systems, firmware versions, and related software for compatibility and performance.
- Test and validate network infrastructure components, including managed switches and redundant network architectures.
- Verify system functionality, performance, reliability, and interoperability under normal and fault conditions.
- Identify, document, reproduce, and track hardware and software defects through resolution.
- Generate test reports, validation documentation, and technical findings for internal stakeholders.
- Configure and maintain laboratory test environments supporting Foxboro DCS and SDA.
- Participate in hardware installation, configuration, upgrades, and maintenance within laboratory environments.
- Perform troubleshooting and root cause analysis of complex hardware, operating system, software, and network issues.
- Maintain equipment inventories, test assets, and documentation associated with laboratory operations.

- Linux operating systems and containerized environments.

Additional Skills - Experience with Foxboro DCS or related industrial control systems.

What qualifications will make you successful?Education / Experience - Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related technical field preferred.
- Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.
- 5+ years of experience in system testing, network testing, engineering validation, infrastructure support, industrial automation, or related technical disciplines preferred.

For this U.S. based position, the expected pay range is USD 101,600 - USD 152,400 per year. This pay range includes base pay and short-term incentives. The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our pay ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the pay range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
