Job's Mission

As a Senior Field Service Engineer at ASM, you will play a critical role in supporting our customers by installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing advanced semiconductor capital equipment. You will serve as a technical expert in the field, delivering exceptional customer service while ensuring equipment performance, reliability, and safety. This position offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge semiconductor technology, collaborate with global teams, and support customers across domestic and international locations.
What You Will Be Working On
  • Perform installation, qualification, preventative maintenance, and remedial repair activities on complex semiconductor capital equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical, electronic, mechanical, and software-related equipment issues in customer manufacturing environments.
  • Provide timely and professional technical support to customers while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Interpret and utilize electronic and electro-mechanical schematics, drawings, and technical documentation to diagnose equipment issues.
  • Support equipment upgrades, modifications, and process improvements as required.
  • Document service activities, maintenance actions, and technical findings accurately and thoroughly.
  • Collaborate with engineering, technical support, and customer teams to resolve complex issues and improve equipment performance.
  • Adhere to all safety procedures and maintain a safety-first mindset while working with semiconductor manufacturing equipment and facilities.
  • Travel domestically and internationally (25-75%) to support customer installations and service requirements.
What We Are Looking For
  • Associate degree in Electronics, Electro-Mechanical Technology, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent military technical training.
  • 5+ years of field service, customer support, or semiconductor manufacturing experience involving complex capital equipment.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with complex microprocessor-controlled electro-mechanical systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical, electronic, and electro-mechanical schematics and drawings.
  • Experience performing preventative maintenance, installations, repairs, and system diagnostics.
  • Working knowledge of oscilloscopes, digital voltmeters (DVMs), and common diagnostic tools.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision and thrive in a team environment.
  • Customer-focused mindset with a positive, professional attitude.

  • Experience supporting semiconductor capital equipment in wafer fabrication environments.
