This is an opportunity for an experienced engagement professional who is equally comfortable developing strategy, writing compelling materials, facilitating conversations and representing the organization in public. You'll be trusted to manage multiple complex initiatives, navigate sensitive issues and translate technical information into clear, accessible and meaningful communications.

The Role
Reporting to the Manager, Community Relations, you add value and are energized by key areas of oversight such as:

  • Identifying opportunities to proactively engage and build meaningful relationships with external audiences;
  • Drafting high-quality engagement materials, including strategies and plans, briefing and information notes, display boards, newsletters, presentations, reports, speeches, correspondence and online engagement content;
  • Translating complex and technical information into clear, accessible and plain-language materials for a variety of audiences;
  • Planning and supporting public events, workshops and other engagement activities;
  • Facilitating meetings, working groups and internal or external task forces;
  • Working closely with colleagues across Public Affairs & Marketing and other divisions to align engagement activities with broader corporate initiatives;
  • Working independently to produce high profile engagement products that require little revision;
  • Responding to requests from communities, partners and interest groups as needed;
  • Managing multiple projects and priorities while delivering high-quality work on time and within budget.

What you bring to the team
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, public affairs, community engagement or equivalent
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered, and familiarity with International Association of Public Participation (IAP2) foundations and facilitation skills are preferred.
  • 4-6 years of experience in a public relations or external engagement or communications role with high public visibility. Candidates with established interest holder connections are highly preferred
  • 4-6 years of experience in drafting engagement materials, coordinating day-to-day engagement activities, planning events and workshops, and facilitating group conversations
  • 4-6 years of experience managing internal resources and contract suppliers
  • Proven record of creating, leading and delivering impactful engagement strategies and plans aligned to business objectives
