The engineer will work hands-on in a world-class EMI/EMC test facility, supporting compliance testing to industry standards including MIL-STD-461 and DO-160. This role includes test execution, test equipment stewardship, documentation and software support, and providing technical guidance to test technicians and engineering partners.

The ideal candidate brings prior EMI test lab experience and will contribute immediately by maintaining daily lab readiness, serving as a subject-matter expert for EMI test equipment and troubleshooting, managing test equipment and configuration documentation, updating EMI procedures and methods, training technicians, and supporting advanced capabilities such as reverberation chambers, lightning generator care, aircraft system level certification, method development, and specialized, tailored test setups.

EMI engineers thrive here because they have the support of deep subject-matter expertise, the autonomy to innovate, and the opportunity to directly influence product readiness for both commercial and military platforms. If you're passionate about solving complex EMI challenges, leading in a collaborative engineering environment, and driving the evolution of a top-tier test lab, this role will give you the tools, resources, and opportunity for impact you're looking for.

What You Will Do:

In this EMC/EMI Test Engineer role, you will support the following types of activities:
  • Maintain daily EMI lab organization, equipment readiness, and consumable levels.
  • Support test chamber and equipment calibrations, facility setup, and cross-lab technical coordination.
  • Serve as subject-matter expert (SME) for EMI test equipment, troubleshooting, test setups, and best-practice methodology.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues related to test hardware, test configurations, instrumentation, and test software.
  • Manage test lab's equipment needs, post-calibration tasks, and coordination across inter-organizational services.
  • Research and design new test capabilities while maintaining and upgrading existing capabilities.
  • Create and maintain equipment configuration files and test profiles.
  • Update EMI procedures, datasheets, and test methods to align with current industry standards.
  • Train and evaluate technicians; maintain required competency and audit-ready records.
  • Prepare and coordinate EMI hardware evaluation testing

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
  • Demonstrated ability to perform hands-on troubleshooting using engineering lab equipment (oscilloscopes, signal generators, power meters, etc...).

Qualifications We Prefer:
  • Experience in Circuit board and Radio Frequency (RF) design, including use of schematic capture tools and collaboration with PCB layout board designers.
  • Experience applying military aerospace testing standards (DO-160; MIL-STD-461; MIL-STD-704).
  • Working knowledge of electromagnetic (EM) or circuit simulation tools.
  • Experience supporting RF hardware development activities, including requirements capture and verification, design and development, integration, and testing at the sub-system and system level.
  • Willingness to pursue/obtain International Association for Radio, Telecommunications and Electromagnetics (iNARTE) certification.
  • Demonstrated ability to write and present technical material clearly and effectively.
  • Ability to manage tasks and meet cost, schedule, and performance objectives with minimal oversight.
