Pay Range: $60,486.40 - $101,836.80 (commensurate with experience)
About the Position:The Senior Email Marketing Specialist is responsible for Columbus Metropolitan Library's email marketing program and its impact on customer experience. This position ensures that CML's email marketing efforts are engaging, accessible, customer-centered, and aligned with organizational strategy and goals. The Senior Email Marketing Specialist measures the effectiveness of organizational and branch-specific emails to customers, stakeholders, and staff sent through bulk email platforms; interprets customer behavior; uses analytics, user research, and customer feedback to make data-informed recommendations that improve customer outcomes. Working closely with cross-functional departments across the organization, this role helps to shape strategy, prioritize engagement, and ensure consistent, high-quality experiences for customers and staff.
What You'll Do:- Serves as CML's subject matter expert on email marketing, using analytics, customer feedback, usability research, and industry best practices to identify opportunities, prioritize enhancements, and guide decision-making.
- Serves as the day-to-day business lead for CML's email newsletters to multiple audiences, ensuring content and experiences are effectively managed, maintained, and continuously improved. This role would also provide support for the Development team's email program.
- Accountable for the performance of CML's email marketing program through establishing key performance indicators (KPIs), monitoring trends, tracking and reporting metrics, and using analytics to make recommendations that improve the customer experience and advance CML's strategies.
- Partners with the Insights team to analyze customer research and platform data, translating findings into actionable improvements.
- Partners with IT and email vendor on platform needs, AI initiatives, and accessibility standards.
- Works collaboratively with fellow Marketing team members, Public Services, Development and the Columbus Metropolitan Library Foundation, Government Relations & Advocacy and the Friends of the Library, and other stakeholders to develop email content aligned with organizational priorities.
- Develops and maintains processes for collecting customer and employee feedback and incorporates those insights into ongoing improvements to CML's email marketing efforts.
- Champions user-centered design principles and digital best practices while educating CML team members and stakeholders on email trends, performance, and opportunities for improvement.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or related field.
- 3-5 years of professional experience in email marketing, digital marketing, and analytics.
- Expertise working with email marketing platforms, email service providers (ESPs), and content management systems (CMS)
- Expertise in managing and optimizing email marketing using analytics and customer
insights. - Experience writing and editing email content, following established voice and brand standards.
- Experience developing reports, performance dashboards, and actionable recommendations based on email metrics.
- Experience leading projects and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Strong analytical, communication, project management, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience supporting email marketing within multi-site digital ecosystems preferred.
- Experience with customer journey mapping, usability testing, A/B testing, or conversion rate optimization preferred.
- Experience working with AI-enabled digital tools or personalization strategies preferred.
