Job DescriptionThe Service Electrician is responsible for operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems supporting a mission-critical data center environment. This role helps ensure the reliability, safety, and continuous operation of critical electrical infrastructure while adhering to strict mission-critical procedures and safety standards.
The Service Electrician works closely with site operations, Mechanical, Controls, Engineering, and third-party vendors to support uninterrupted facility operations and zero-impact execution.
Pay: $40.00/hr - 50.00/hr

Responsibilities- Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on electrical systems, including switchgear, panelboards, breakers, transformers, lighting systems, receptacles, and power distribution equipment.
- Support electrical infrastructure associated with critical systems, including UPS systems, generators, ATS/STS equipment, and emergency power distribution, within contract scope and qualifications.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues using proper testing equipment and approved procedures.
- Execute electrical work safely and in accordance with approved SOPs, MOPs, EOPs, lockout/tagout, arc-flash requirements, and change-control processes.
- Perform inspections and testing of electrical systems, identify deficiencies, and recommend corrective actions.
- Coordinate with Controls, Mechanical, HVAC, and Chiller teams to support integrated system operations.
- Escort and oversee third-party electrical contractors, OEM technicians, or service providers as required.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all work performed, findings, corrective actions, and recommendations in the CMMS.
- Support planned maintenance activities, minor electrical projects, and system modifications within contract scope.
- Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, post-incident review, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain strict compliance with all safety, environmental, electrical code, and company policies.
QualificationsRequired Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of commercial or industrial electrical experience; data center or mission-critical experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of electrical distribution systems, controls power, critical power infrastructure, and electrical safety practices.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, one-line diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Proficient with electrical testing equipment and troubleshooting techniques.
- Experience working under SOPs, MOPs, EOPs, change control, lockout/tagout, and arc-flash procedures preferred.
- Strong communication, documentation, and teamwork skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or trade school preferred.
Preferred Certifications / Training
- Journeyman Electrician license or state-recognized equivalent preferred
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 preferred
- NFPA 70E training preferred
- Data center or critical facilities training a plus
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand, walk, kneel, bend, and work in electrical and mechanical rooms.
- Ability to climb ladders and work at heights as required.
Work Environment
- Mission-critical data center environment requiring high attention to detail, strict procedural compliance, safety awareness, and documentation accuracy.
- Day shift, Monday-Friday; limited after-hours or emergency support may be required.
