Lead complex power and automation solutions that shape critical infrastructure

Schneider Electric is looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Power Systems Hub Canada. In this role, you will be at the heart of technically complex and high-impact projects, providing technical leadership and expertise from tendering through execution.

You'll work closely with project managers, tender managers, sales teams, and application centers, contributing to solutions across electrical distribution, control, and process automation, with a strong presence in industries such as Data Centers, Utilities, Mining, Renewables, Transportation, Water & Wastewater, and Marine.

This is a senior individual contributor role for someone who enjoys technical ownership, customer interaction, and influencing solution architecture.

Your impact

As a Technical Lead, you will:

  • Own the end-to-end technical execution of medium to large projects, from proposal to delivery
  • Serve as a technical authority for power systems and distribution solutions
  • Influence solution design, optimization, and innovation for complex customer environments
  • Lead without hierarchy by collaborating and mentoring across multidisciplinary teams


What you will do?

  • Provide technical leadership during tendering and project execution phases
  • Support sales teams by delivering optimized and compliant power system designs
  • Define technical architectures and ensure engineering quality and integrity
  • Lead and coordinate with engineers, contractors, consultants, and application centers
  • Independently manage smaller projects without direct project management oversight
  • Evaluate proposals, technical studies, and designs; identify risks and mitigation strategies
  • Develop engineering estimates, bid documentation, and technical customer presentations
  • Support facility upgrades for power, control, and automation systems
  • Act as a technical ambassador for medium- and low-voltage switchgear and switchboards


What qualifications will make you successful?

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Professional Engineer designation (P.Eng.) in Canada
    • Candidates eligible for licensure within 12 months will also be considered
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in electrical distribution, including MV/LV systems
  • Strong capability in electrical distribution design and power systems engineering
  • Experience leading or coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams
  • Ability to work independently and provide sound technical judgment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Assets

  • Experience with control systems or process automation
  • Background in complex or regulated industries (data centers, utilities, mining, etc.)
  • Experience with project proposals, customer presentations, and technical negotiations


Additional details

  • Ability to travel up to 30% across Canada, the U.S., and Mexico
  • Availability for occasional after-hours or weekend work, depending on customer needs
  • Comfortable working under pressure in fast-paced project environments

The expected pay range is CAD 114,750 - CAD 162,000 per year. This pay range includes base pay and short-term incentives.
