About the role
Provide deep technical expertise in Naval power and energy systems, including hardware performance, physics, and component controls, and supervisory system controls
Deliver client-facing models, simulations, and reports
Develop, test, and validate software for supervisory control of Naval power systems

Required Skills and Qualifications:
Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a DoW Secret Clearance
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
8+ years of professional experience in electrical power systems and/or microgrids
Deep expertise with MATLAB/Simulink
Experience with supervisory control methods for power systems, especially maritime systems (e.g., machinery control systems, electric plant control systems)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to deliver clear technical reports and concise briefings to stakeholders
PreferredSkills and qualifications:
Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline
5+ years of experience in naval power systems design
Expertise programming in Python, C++, or similar
Deep expertise in real-time simulation & testing with Speedgoat or equivalent HIL platform
Experience in energy storage system design, modeling, and optimization
Expertise in laboratory testing, system integration, and data-driven validation
Expertise in electric machines and motor drives
Experience developing models for shipboard HM&E (hull, mechanical, and electrical) systems
Experience with Navy customers
Position is open to remote, preferred in person location is Columbia, SC.
