Roles & Responsibilities:As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will play a critical role in completing arc flash studies, coordinating with customers, and assisting in the development of other Electrical Engineers. Your responsibilities will include:
- Coordinate with Lead Electrical Engineer to assist in developing electrical engineers on staff
- Production of engineering studies to UISE standards: modeling of power systems, short circuit analysis, protective device coordination, arc flash, and shock hazard analysis
- Review electrical engineering work completed by internal team and contractors, give constructive feedback, and stamp approved reports
- Format study results and provide recommendations to remedy power system deficiencies
- Engage in on-site meetings to understand and quantify the scope of work, producing quotes outlining time and associated costs
- Extract crucial information from electrical drawings and project specifications, requesting RFIs when necessary
- Effectively manage clients' expectations
- Performing other duties as needed to contribute to the overall success of Team UIS
Qualifications, Experience and Education Requirements To be successful in this role, you should have the following qualifications and skills:
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
- Michigan Professional Engineer (PE) license or willingness to obtain, required
- Expert understanding of IEEE and NEC
- Advanced ability to read and interpret electrical drawings (specifically one-lines, riser diagrams and panel schedules)
- Performed short circuit, protective device coordination or arc flash analysis studies previously
- Proficiency with SKM PowerTools and AutoCAD . Basic understanding of ETAP, EasyPower is desired.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent communication skills and organizational ability.
- Demonstrate ability to multitask and manage multiple deadlines.
- Strong work ethic, embraces new challenges, and willing to do the necessary research to find the right solution.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States and fluent English speaker
Preferred Qualifications
- Additional PE licenses in Ohio, Indiana, Illinois
