This Opportunity

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Property & Buildings team in Riverside, California. This role will support the design and delivery of projects primarily within the Education sector, including K-12 and Higher Education facilities.

This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to impactful, community-focused projects while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative and sustainable building solutions.

Your Impact
  • Lead electrical design efforts for Education sector projects (K-12, colleges, and universities)
  • Perform and oversee design of power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, low-voltage systems, and emergency power systems
  • Develop construction documents, specifications, and technical reports
  • Coordinate with architects, mechanical engineers, and other disciplines to ensure integrated design solutions
  • Support project management activities, including scope, schedule, and budget adherence
  • Review and QA/QC work of junior engineers and designers
  • Participate in client meetings and help maintain strong client relationships
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to early career engineers
  • Support construction administration activities, including site visits and RFIs


Who You Are

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
  • Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience in building systems design
  • Demonstrated experience working on Education sector projects
  • Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD
  • Strong knowledge of applicable codes and standards (NEC, Title 24, etc.)
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT)

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Active PE license in California (or ability to obtain)
  • Experience with sustainable design and energy-efficient systems
  • Familiarity with campus environments and large-scale institutional projects
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Experience mentoring junior staff

Compensation:

Expected Salary: $100,800 - $147,000

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position within the state of Colorado, based on the successful applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant's sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
