The Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Electrical Engineer looking to work with autonomy on some of Canada's most future-forward engineering projects. You'll play a key leadership role in delivering complex municipal, institutional, commercial, and industrial building projects while influencing design excellence, mentoring emerging talent, and helping shape the built environment of tomorrow.

Your Impact
  • Lead the electrical design and delivery of complex commercial, institutional, and industrial building projects from concept through construction.
  • Drive innovative solutions for medium-voltage power distribution, emergency power, life safety, grounding, lightning protection, UPS, and fire alarm systems.
  • Guide multidisciplinary teams by providing technical leadership, mentorship, and quality oversight throughout project execution.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, contractors, and stakeholders while representing WSP as a trusted technical advisor.
  • Develop detailed calculations, specifications, tender documents, reports, and engineering designs that achieve successful project outcomes.
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects as both Lead Engineer and Project Manager, ensuring scope, schedule, quality, and budget objectives are achieved.
  • Support integrated project delivery and design-build initiatives that improve efficiency, collaboration, and project performance.
  • Contribute to safer, more resilient, and sustainable communities through excellence in engineering design and execution.

The Skills That Set You Apart
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation and registration with the Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO).
  • 15+ years of experience designing electrical systems for commercial and industrial building projects.
  • Deep expertise in electrical power distribution, grounding, fire alarm, lightning protection, emergency power, life safety systems, UPS systems, and arc flash studies.
  • Strong knowledge of applicable codes and standards, including OBC, OESC, CEC, CSA, NFPA, IEEE, ASHRAE, and other relevant industry requirements.
  • Proven experience leading project teams and mentoring junior and intermediate engineers.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate with contractors, review shop drawings, respond to RFIs, and defend engineering designs during construction.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain Reliability Security Clearance.

Compensation

AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $114,600 - $151,800
MB & ON: $104,500 - $143,900
NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $103,500 - $137,400
