Job Description:

The Sr. Electrical Engineer is responsible for applying standard theories, techniques, concepts, and practices within the electrical discipline. This position specifies, orders, and oversees the installation of maintenance projects. Additionally, this position assists, champions, and supports major capital projects. The Electrical Engineer is responsible for troubleshooting complex electrical problems involving refinery maintenance and reliability. The Electrical Engineer defines program and documentation standards to ensure refinery reliability and equipment availability.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:
• Design moderately complex electrical systems for capital projects for all electrical distribution equipment and substation specifications.
• Support Instrumentation/Electrical Maintenance Technicians with complex field problems during project execution. Assist in technical training and craftsmen technical skills development for new technologies installed by project group.
• Develop, review, and modify refinery electrical standards with vendors recommendations and NFPA codes.
• Develop Turnaround work and ensure all scope is captured in conceptual phase of project.
• For new installations for electrical projects and provide calculations/settings when necessary for (i.e. UPS systems, motors, transformers, relays, related substation equipment, etc).
• Act as electrical subject matter expert for the project group for all capital projects that have an electrical scope, including projects with upgrading compressor controls related to motor and 480V motor-operated valves.
• Review and approve electrical system studies for refinery up to 138 kV during all projects when appropriate. Make recommendations for improvements of system studies relating to electrical coordination and arc flash study and ensure SKM Model updated by project group.
• Update refinery documentation as needed for electrical modifications such as electrical one-lines, motor schematics, relaying and related substation equipment.
• Review IFA Packages and direct EPCs on designs to follow Client Standards.
• Assist the maintenance department with technical expertise during unplanned events.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
• Experience: Min of 10+ years of related experience
• Licensure: P.E. Preferred
• Technical Skills: SAP, word processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation, familiarity with the internet. Ability to manage assigned projects under limited supervision. Preferred: Working with High Voltage Equipment and substations up to 138kv
• Management: Experience mentoring and leading teams required
• Other Skills: Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills

• You must possess physical mobility (on the ground and at heights).
• You may be required to pick up, lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs.
• You may be required to work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, and may occasionally work off platforms/scaffolding/ladders using the appropriate and required fall protection.
• You must be able to work in all weather conditions (including heat, rain, cold, and wind) while wearing the appropriate PPE. This may include but not be limited to a hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs, masks/respirators, hi-vis safety vests, leather gloves, and leather, steel-toed work boots.
• You may be required to position yourself to work in confined spaces
• You may be required to adhere to a client's random drug testing program prior to entering their site.
• You may be required to meet a client's facial hair safety policy prior to entering their site.
