Senior Electrical Designer

Job Summary:

The candidate will provide technical and design service in support of electrical design projects to produce construction drawings and specifications for our clients. Drawings produce by candidate will include Power, Lighting, Fire Alarm, Electrical Details, Systems, and Electrical diagrams. Candidate will have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of project types.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Participating in the design effort on large and small projects.
  • Coordination with engineering and other disciplines on the project team.
  • Ability to provide calculations including lighting, voltage drop, and load calculations.
  • Ability to lead discipline design.
  • Follow company standards in creation of electrical drawings.
  • Provide field support including field verifications for retrofit applications, as-built documentation, and construction administration.
  • From Project scope, develop electrical construction drawings (i.e. exterior lighting, interior lighting, power plans, systems plans, fire alarm system plans, grounding systems, details, single lines/riser diagrams and panel schedules).
  • Willingness to travel for projects.

Qualifications and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or Associates Degree with adequate drafting experience or a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology.
  • A minimum of 10 years' experience in electrical design including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, systems, and grounding plans. Experience in Federal/Municipal Government, Healthcare and/or Aviation is preferred but not required.
  • Proficiency in using engineering tools and software to:
    • Working knowledge of National Electrical Code, Buildings Codes, and Energy Codes.
    • Strong Working knowledge of lighting design and lighting calculations.
    • Must know Revit, AutoCAD and lighting design software.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Software.
    • Familiary with fault currents and voltage drop calculations.
    • Willing to utilize tools such Microsoft Teams.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work on various projects and tasks, embracing new challenges with enthusiasm.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative to complete work assignments and take direction from others as required to complete the work.
  • Must be a US Citizen and have a valid driver's license.

Location: Charlotte, NC

Travel: As Needed

Compensation & Benefits:

The expected base salary range for this role is $80,000 - $105,000 USD per year. Actual compensation will be determined based on a number of factors including skills, experience, qualifications, and location.
