TITLE: Senior Network Engineer, AI Data Center Infrastructure

POSITION SUMMARYModern Government Solutions (MGS) is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to drive the performance, stability, and scalability of next-generation data center networks supporting Artificial Intelligence (AI) workloads. Working with enterprise-leading equipment and emerging technologies, you will play a critical role in designing and implementing robust, efficient network infrastructure.
You will join a diverse team of software and platform engineers to design, deploy, and maintain network infrastructure, collaborating with partners inside and outside the organization to deliver the highest standards for building and scaling networks, supported by ongoing training and professional development.
RESPONSIBILITIES (not limited to):- Design, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain complex Layer 2 and Layer 3 data center architectures using Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), Equal Cost Multipath (ECMP), Virtual Extensible LAN (VXLAN), Multi-Chassis Link Aggregation Group (MCLAG), Spine-Leaf topologies, RDMA over Converged Ethernet (RoCEv2), and related technologies
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into effective network solutions
- Mentor and guide junior team members in their professional growth
- Document network infrastructure designs and configurations for knowledge sharing
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS- Must possess an active DoD TS/SCI with CI Polygraph security clearance.
- Current Information Assurance Management (IAM) Level II certification to satisfy DoD 8570 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) requirements
- Proven experience designing, configuring, managing, and troubleshooting complex BGP, VXLAN, and Layer 2 and Layer 3 data center architectures and topologies
- Experience with Spine-Leaf data center fabric architecture, design, and implementation, and with redundancy protocols such as MCLAG or Link Aggregation Control Protocol (LACP)
- Ability and willingness to build expertise in troubleshooting, designing, and monitoring RoCEv2 supporting ultra high-speed data transfers
- Strong communication, cross-functional collaboration, problem-solving, and attention to detail, with a commitment to quality work
- Commitment to staying current on networking trends, best practices, and technology advancements
- Ability to travel up to 20%, domestic and international, to perform on-site installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting at customer sites or data centers
PREFERRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS- Experience with Linux-based Network Operating Systems (NOS)
