Senior Network Engineer Position Summary:The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, optimization, and operational support of a large-scale, highly available healthcare network spanning multiple hospitals, ambulatory sites, and data centers. This role supports a mission-critical environment with approximately 30,000 networked devices across 3 hospitals and 90 ambulatory sites within a 90-mile radius. The engineer will provide expert-level support for routed and switched networks, data center infrastructure, WAN connectivity, wireless systems, firewalls, and unified communications, ensuring high availability, security, and performance in a regulated healthcare setting.
Senior Network Engineer RequirementsEducation:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
License and/or certification:
- Cisco certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent preferred.
Experience:
- Seven (7) years of progressive experience in enterprise network engineering.
- Extensive hands-on experience with Cisco networking technologies in large environments.
- Expertise in routing and switching, including BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP.
- Experience supporting large-scale WANs and multi-site healthcare or similarly regulated environments.
- Experience with Cisco data center products (e.g. Nexus, Cisco ACI) preferred.
- Cloud networking (e.g. AWS, Azure) preferred.
- Experience with security products, especially firewalls preferred.
- Experience in healthcare IT environments preferred.
- Familiarity with network automation, monitoring tools, and ITIL practices preferred.
Senior Network Engineer Schedule:- Primarily day shift, Monday through Friday
- Evenings and weekends may be required as needed.
