Full Job Description
The Domain Architect is a highly skilled and strategic bridge between organizational vision, scalability and technical implementation for Smile's Health Data Platform. This role will be responsible for designing, developing, and overseeing the development of complex technology solutions that align with Smile's business goals and objectives. Responsibilities: 1. Creating detailed architectural designs, blueprints, and other artifacts within the solution architecture stream. >2. Conducting architectural reviews and providing constructive feedback on solution designs. >3. Managing and developing strong client relationships to effectively drive negotiations, issue resolutions and identify potential systems and business opportunities. >4. Leading the design of scalable, efficient, and secure technical architectures for complex enterprise solutions. >5. Collaborating with cross-functional leaders to identify and determine software and system gaps and requirements. >6. Oversee the prioritization and development of roadmaps to address gaps and ensure solutions are in line with Smile's and client business strategy and objectives. >7. Providing strategic architectural guidance to Smile and cross-functional teams throughout the project lifecycle. >8. Collaborating extensively with business units, technical experts, and senior leaders to gather requirements and ensure alignment between customer expectations and technical capabilities. >9. Mentoring and guiding other solutions architects and engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement. >10. Identifying potential risks, troubleshooting roadblocks, and developing appropriate mitigation strategies and solutions. >11. Developing proofs-of-concept to validate proposed solutions and explore new capabilities. >12. Providing regular progress and status reports as well as regularly meeting KPIs. Requirements: 1. 10+ years experience in the technology industry with extensive background in solution or enterprise architecture roles, with demonstrated proficiency as a thought leader. >2. Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Engineering or related field and/or equivalent work experience. >3. Proven track record of successfully designing and delivering large-scale, complex software solutions. >4. Experience with electronic information exchange, preferably within the healthcare industry. >5. Demonstrated in-depth expertise in technical and architecture best practices, methodologies, programming tools and development platforms such as microservices architecture, and scalable enterprise-caliber solutions (HL7 FHIR experience is preferred but not required). >6. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build and cultivate strong partnerships with clients, technical teams and internal business partners from all disciplines with all levels of experience. >7. Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, understandable language for non-technical audiences. >8. Strong abilities in technical problem solving, critical thinking and developing creative solutions. >9. Exceptional verbal and written communication and presentation skills. >10. Ability to work in a multi-functional team environment with rapidly changing priorities. >11. Highly analytical mindset, with an ability to see both the big picture and the details. >12. Formal IT architecture certifications (e.g. TOGAF) are beneficial but not required.
