Senior Director, Scientific Publications & Communications - Solid Biosciences

We are seeking a Senior Director, Scientific Publications & Communications to lead the development and execution of Solid Biosciences' global scientific communication strategy. This role will establish the scientific narrative for the portfolio, drive publication planning and execution, develop scientific communication platforms, and ensure the consistent articulation of the clinical and scientific value of Solid's programs across stakeholder audiences.

Reporting to the Executive Director, Global Head of Medical Affairs, this individual will work cross-functionally with Clinical Development, Regulatory, Commercial, Patient Advocacy, and external partners to maximize the impact of the company's scientific data and leadership.

Key Position Responsibilities

Scientific Communication Strategy

  • Develop and maintain integrated Scientific Communication Platforms (SCPs) across all programs.
  • Translate scientific and clinical data into compelling, evidence-based scientific narratives.
  • Ensure consistency of messaging across publications, congresses, medical education, and stakeholder engagements.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to align scientific and business priorities.


Publication Planning & Execution

  • Lead global publication planning processes across the portfolio.
  • Develop annual and multi-year publication strategies aligned with development milestones.
  • Oversee manuscript, abstract, poster, and oral presentation development.
  • Manage publication agencies, medical writers, and external vendors.
  • Ensure adherence to ICMJE, GPP, and publication ethics standards.


Congress & Scientific Engagement

  • Lead scientific congress planning and content strategy.
  • Coordinate development of congress materials and scientific presentations.
  • Support advisory boards, investigator meetings, and scientific exchange activities.


Scientific Storytelling & Value Communication

  • Develop scientific narratives that communicate the differentiated value of Solid's platforms and programs.
  • Support preparation of scientific materials for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Partner with Medical Affairs leadership to articulate evidence-generation strategies and scientific leadership goals.


Qualifications

  • Advanced scientific degree (PhD, PharmD, MD).
  • 8-12+ years of experience in Medical Affairs, Scientific Communications, Publications, or Clinical Development.
  • Demonstrated expertise in publication planning, scientific narrative development, and SCP creation.
  • Strong understanding of rare disease and gene therapy environments preferred.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and strategic communication skills.


Compensation

The base compensation range for this role is: $270,000.00 - $315,000.00

Base salary offered is determined through an internal analysis utilizing a combination of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills & experience, job location, and internal equity.

Regular employees are eligible to receive both short-term and long-term incentives, including cash bonus and equity incentive opportunities, designed to reward individual performance and align incentives to Solid's long term company performance.
