Full Job Description
Role Purpose
The Senior Project Director provides strategic leadership and oversight for the execution of large-scale, complex engineering and construction projects or programs. This role is accountable for delivering projects safely, on time, within budget, and in alignment with Worley's operational and sustainability objectives.

Operating with a high degree of autonomy, the Senior Project Director leads multidisciplinary teams, manages critical client relationships, and drives project excellence across the full lifecycle-from early study phases through execution and closeout.
In the Baton Rouge/Gulf Coast market, this role will primarily support refining, petrochemical, and brownfield capital projects, including sustaining capital programs, plant expansions, debottlenecking initiatives, and turnaround-driven scopes across operating facilities.

Key Responsibilities

Project & Program Leadership
  • Lead the successful execution of major capital projects and/or portfolios, ensuring alignment with client requirements and business objectives
  • Oversee engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities across all project phases
  • Direct delivery of brownfield capital projects within active operating facilities, ensuring minimal disruption to ongoing operations
  • Manage project performance including safety, cost, schedule, quality, and risk
  • Establish execution strategies aligned with Gulf Coast client expectations and regulatory requirements

Strategic & Commercial Oversight
  • Develop and implement project strategies that support long-term business goals
  • Ensure strong financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and commercial performance
  • Drive decision-making on complex project issues impacting delivery and profitability

Client Management
  • Serve as the primary interface with senior client stakeholders and executive leadership
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with major Gulf Coast operators (refining and chemical clients)

Leadership & Team Development

  • Maintain robust project controls and reporting processes

Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline
  • Extensive experience delivering large-scale EPC/EPCM projects in refining, petrochemical, or chemical manufacturing environments
  • Demonstrated success delivering brownfield capital projects within operating facilities
  • Strong commercial acumen, including contract and financial management
  • Proven leadership experience managing large, multidisciplinary teams

Preferred
  • Advanced degree (MBA or equivalent)
  • Professional certifications (e.g., PMP, PE, or equivalent)
  • Experience supporting Gulf Coast clients (e.g., major oil & gas, chemical, or downstream operators)
  • Experience with turnaround integration, constructability planning, and minimizing operational disruptions

Experience & Competencies
  • Relevant experience with progressive leadership responsibility
  • Strong background in capital project delivery within live plant environments
  • Deep understanding of brownfield execution challenges, including constructability, access, safety, and tie-ins
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate business objectives into execution plans
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex projects through others
  • High degree of autonomy with accountability for major business outcomes
