Summary:The Senior Director Nursing Services provides executive leadership and strategic direction for all nursing operations within Altru Health System, ensuring the highest standards of patient care, safety, and quality across all clinical settings. This role is responsible for the overall management and development of nursing staff, promoting a culture of excellence, and continuous improvement.
Essential Job Functions:- Develops, implements, and evaluates strategic nursing goals and objectives aligned with Altru Health System's mission, vision, and values.
- Oversees the financial management of nursing services, including budget development, resource allocation, and cost-containment strategies.
- Leads and manages the recruitment, retention, performance evaluation, and professional development of all nursing personnel.
- Ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as accrediting body standards (e.g., Joint Commission) related to nursing practice and patient care.
- Establishes and maintains high standards of patient care quality and safety, implementing evidence-based practices and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Collaborates with other executive leaders, medical staff, and department heads to foster interdisciplinary teamwork and integrated patient care delivery.
- Represents nursing services on various system-wide committees, task forces, and community initiatives.
- Promotes a positive and supportive work environment that encourages professional growth, innovation, and staff engagement.
- Develops and implements policies and procedures for nursing practice, ensuring consistency and adherence across the health system.
- Oversees the integration of technology and information systems to enhance nursing efficiency and patient outcomes.
- Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.
