Job Description

This role is based at our corporate office in McLean, VA

The Senior Director, Marketing Performance and Growth will lead a new team responsible for ensuring Hilton's marketing investments are driving optimal brand and commercial outcomes. This is a critical leadership role designed to move Hilton from insight-rich reporting to faster optimization across paid media, digital direct commerce, creative, and growth channels.

This role has accountability for optimization across multiple teams with the goal of reducing the time it takes to move from insight to action. This leader will establish a dedicated performance and optimization hub within Marketing, creating a new operating system with clear ownership, tighter decision-making, and measurable impact on ROI, brand health, channel growth, and digital direct commerce performance.

The Senior Director will be accountable for building the team, operating cadence, cross-functional model, and performance discipline needed to continuously improve how Hilton invests, learns, reallocates, and grows.

What you'll do during a typical day:
  • Lead the Marketing Performance & Optimization team, establishing the vision, operating model, governance, and day-to-day ways of working for a new embedded optimization capability.
  • Build a faster insight-to-action model that turns performance signals into concrete recommendations, budget shifts, channel adjustments, creative learnings, and measurable outcomes.
  • Optimize paid media investment and performance across major channels, partnering with media, regional marketing, finance, analytics, and agency teams to ensure spend is continuously evaluated and redeployed toward the highest-value opportunities.
  • Diagnose and improve digital direct commerce performance, identifying opportunities across web, mobile, CRM, media, and other growth channels to accelerate revenue and conversion outcomes.
  • Define, test, and scale growth channels by establishing a disciplined test-and-learn agenda, clear measurement frameworks, and repeatable playbooks for scaling what works.
  • Establish a clear operating cadence for the team, including daily performance signal reviews and anomaly detection, weekly optimization recommendations and budget-shift discussions, and monthly channel role and investment recalibration.
  • Build and maintain marketing tagging and tracking methodology in partnership with Marketing Technology team.
  • Create accountability against goal delivery, ensuring optimization work is tied directly to business outcomes rather than reporting activity alone.
  • Translate complex performance data into clear executive narratives and recommendations that help senior leaders make decisions about marketing investment, channel strategy, and growth opportunities.

How you'll collaborate with others:
  • Partner closely with Strategy, Insights & Analytics, Finance, Media teams, Regional Marketing leaders, and Agencies to ensure measurement, investment decisions, and optimization actions are connected and aligned.
  • Build and develop a high-performing team with the specialized skills required to drive continuous optimization across analytics, media performance, creative insights, and growth strategy

Deliverables you'll take ownership of:
  • Own end-to-end accountability for improving the performance of Hilton's marketing investments, with a focus on paid media efficiency, digital direct commerce growth, channel performance, and commercial return.
What It Takes to Make the Stay

You have these minimum qualifications:
  • Twelve plus (12+) years of experience in marketing performance, media strategy, digital commerce, growth marketing, marketing analytics, or related commercial leadership roles.
  • Demonstrated experience managing or influencing large-scale marketing investment decisions across paid media, digital, CRM, mobile, web, or performance channels.
  • Strong understanding of marketing ROI, incrementality, attribution, media measurement, audience strategy, and performance optimization.
  • Experience turning data and insights into practical actions that improve business outcomes.
  • Experience building or leading cross-functional operating models across marketing, analytics, finance, agencies, and commercial teams.
  • Simplify complex performance topics and influence senior stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated leadership of teams, including building new capabilities, setting priorities, and creating accountability in matrixed organizations.
  • Comfort operating in ambiguity and standing up new ways of working where roles, processes, and decision rights need to be clarified.

It would be useful if you have:
  • Experience in hospitality, travel, retail, loyalty, ecommerce, or another multi-channel consumer business.
  • Experience working in a global or regionally matrixed organization.
  • Familiarity with Marketing Mix Modeling, incrementality testing, media optimization tools, customer data platforms, and agency performance management.
  • Experience connecting creative testing and media optimization to commercial outcomes.
