Description:
We are seeking a talented individual to join our Executive Compensation team at Mercer. This role will be based in Calgary. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
The Senior Director - Executive Compensation Consulting will work closely with clients and senior management on executive compensation, remuneration and broader Human Capital issues while helping drive revenue growth through new and expanded client relationships.
We will count on you to:
• Lead and oversee teams within the executive compensation consulting business, with full accountability for budgeting, staffing, strategy and people management.
• Direct client engagements by leading client meetings, answering questions, overseeing edits and changes, clarifying complex issues and ensuring high-quality deliverables.
• Structure, direct, review and interpret analyses performed by project teams and oversee the development of client deliverables related to executive and broad-based compensation strategies and programs.
• Design and review financial performance measurement and target-setting systems, short-term incentive programs and compensation strategies that support client business objectives and attraction and retention needs.
• Generate revenue through new client acquisition, cross-selling to current clients, extending current engagements and building strong client relationships that lead to referrals and additional opportunities.
• Execute the strategy, direction and focus of the team, engaging staff to deliver results while leveraging work appropriately and delegating effectively to support development.
What you need to have:
• Significant executive compensation consulting experience, including advising senior management on pay competitiveness, rewards strategy and remuneration issues.
• Proven experience leading managers and teams, including assigning and evaluating work, conducting performance and career development discussions and making salary and bonus decisions.
• Strong client leadership skills with experience managing complex deliverables, resolving difficult issues and presenting to clients on a regular basis.
• Demonstrated business development success, including generating revenue through new client relationships, cross-selling and engagement extensions.
