VISTA is a critical enterprise digital product that enables strategic decision-making by visualizing material flows and key business measures at the part-number level, from external suppliers through Caterpillar facilities and ultimately to dealers.

In this role, you will serve as the product leader responsible for maximizing business value, prioritizing feature development, driving product adoption, and ensuring solution quality. You will make an impact in the areas of supply chain strategy, advanced analytics, software development, and business transformation. Working closely with supply chain leaders, data engineers, software developers, and analytics professionals, you will help shape digital capabilities that improve supply chain visibility, operational efficiency, and decision-making across the enterprise.

This position is ideal for candidates with deep product ownership experience, a strong quantitative mindset, and a passion for translating complex supply chain data into actionable business insights.

What you will do:

Digital Product Leadership

  • Provide day-to-day leadership for the development, quality, adoption, and continuous improvement of the VISTA digital product.
  • Define and maintain product vision, roadmap, priorities, and release strategies.
  • Coordinate with business process owners to identify, evaluate, and prioritize development opportunities.
  • Translate business challenges into actionable product requirements and user stories.

Software Product Management

  • Lead the execution and tracking of product enhancements, maintenance releases, and defect remediation.
  • Partner with software engineering teams to design, build, test, and deploy new capabilities.
  • Manage software change requests and enhancement opportunities originating from business users and stakeholders.
  • Monitor product performance, adoption metrics, and business outcomes.

Stakeholder Engagement & User Experience

  • Gather, consolidate, and prioritize feedback from users and business partners.
  • Serve as the primary product expert by creating product documentation, user guidance, and training materials.
  • Partner with end users to understand evolving business needs and improve user adoption.
  • Communicate product strategy, priorities, and progress to functional and leadership stakeholders.

Analytics & Supply Chain Solutions

  • Collaborate with Digital Supply & Capacity Planning teams to integrate data, applications, and analytical insights.
  • Support visualization and analysis of material flow, transportation, inventory, supplier, and asset-related data.
  • Leverage quantitative and analytical approaches to improve decision-making capabilities.
  • Partner with supply chain stakeholders to deliver scalable, data-driven solutions.

Product Quality & Governance

  • Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) planning, execution, and validation activities.
  • Identify and resolve design, reliability, performance, and maintenance issues.
  • Ensure solution quality through testing disciplines, release validation, and user feedback loops.
  • Support governance processes related to software product lifecycle management.

What skills you will have:

  • Software Engineering: Strong understanding of software development practices and the ability to partner effectively with development teams to deliver new capabilities and enhancements. In this role, you will serve as the product owner for VISTA, defining product priorities, managing the product roadmap, understanding user needs, and ensuring the platform continues to support strategic supply chain decision-making. You should be comfortable balancing current business requirements with future product vision while driving adoption across multiple stakeholder groups.
  • Business Analysis: Ability to identify business needs, evaluate opportunities, and recommend solutions that create value. In this role, you will work closely with supply chain process owners and business partners to gather requirements, analyze workflows, and translate complex operational challenges into digital solutions that improve visibility, planning effectiveness, and decision-making.
  • Software Change Request Management: Experience managing feature requests, enhancement opportunities, and product improvements throughout the software lifecycle. Successful candidates will be skilled at evaluating competing priorities, balancing business impact against technical effort, and maintaining a transparent and value-driven product backlog.
  • User Acceptance Testing (UAT): Ability to design, coordinate, and execute user acceptance testing activities to ensure products meet business requirements and user expectations. This role will lead testing efforts for new functionality, establish acceptance criteria, coordinate stakeholder participation, and validate successful deployment of product enhancements.
  • Software Problem Management: Knowledge of tools, processes, and best practices for identifying, investigating, and resolving software issues. In this role, you will partner with users and development teams to troubleshoot problems, manage defect resolution, communicate status updates, and ensure product reliability and performance.
