Brief Job Overview

USP is seeking a Senior Digital Product Marketing Specialist to drive marketing programs for our online subscriptions. This role blends product marketing fundamentals, email marketing execution, and digital campaign strategy to grow awareness, engagement, and subscription adoption of USP-NF and related products. The ideal candidate is hands-on, data-driven, and comfortable owning multi-channel initiatives; with a particular focus on lifecycle email marketing, marketing automation, and audience segmentation. You will translate technical and regulatory content into clear, compelling narratives that resonate with pharmaceutical manufacturers, quality control professionals, and regulatory affairs teams worldwide.

USP-NF is the most widely referenced source of drug quality standards worldwide, and its digital delivery is central to how the pharmaceutical industry accesses, uses, and integrates those standards into daily work. This position will help evolve how USP-NF is positioned and promoted across digital channels; building the email programs, campaigns, and product messaging that connect scientists, regulators, and manufacturers with the standards they rely on. You will help tell the story of USP-NF as it modernizes for a digital-first pharmaceutical industry.

Remote employees must reside in one of the following states: MD, VA, DC, PA, WV, CA, MI, IL, KS, FL, NC, or MN.

How will YOU create impact here at USP?

As part of our mission to advance scientific rigor and public health standards, you will play a vital role in increasing global access to high-quality medicines through public standards and related programs. USP prioritizes scientific integrity, regulatory excellence, and evidence-based decision-making to ensure health systems worldwide can rely on strong, tested, and globally relevant quality standards.

Additionally, USP's People and Culture division, in partnership with the Equity Office, invests in leadership and workforce development to equip all employees with the skills to create high-performing, inclusive teams. This includes training in equitable management practices and tools to promote engaged, collaborative, and results-driven work environments.

The Senior Digital Product Marketing Specialist has the following responsibilities:

  • Own end-to-end email marketing and lifecycle programs for USP-NF - nurture flows, product announcements, release-cycle communications, renewal journeys, and monthly newsletters. Build and optimize automated nurture journeys, segmentation strategies, and scoring models within Marketo. Track email program health metrics (deliverability, list hygiene, unsubscribe rate, engagement) and take corrective action as needed. [35%]
  • Plan and execute digital marketing campaigns supporting the full USP-NF customer lifecycle - acquisition, activation, retention, and renewal. Apply established USP-NF messaging frameworks and positioning to produce audience-specific content and campaigns for customer segments (e.g., QC/QA, regulatory affairs, R&D, pharmacopeia specialists). Draft compelling content for email campaigns, newsletters, landing pages, and social media. [25%]

  • Plan, execute, and optimize paid media campaigns for USP-NF - briefing, targeting, budget, creative direction, and performance - and brief and manage agency partners on larger campaigns when brought in for support. [15%]

  • Monitor campaign performance using KPIs, dashboards, and analytics tools; provide insights and recommendations for continuous improvement. Conduct A/B testing across email subject lines, content, landing pages, and calls-to-action to improve open rates, click-through, and conversion. Maintain accurate campaign documentation, reporting, and performance summaries for internal teams. [15%]

  • Manage a detailed, cross-channel marketing content calendar aligned to the USP-NF release cycle. Schedule and publish social content using tools such as Hootsuite. Coordinate content reviews, approvals, and asset delivery across internal stakeholders. Operate as the marketing point of contact for USP-NF across Product Management and Customer Success - driving alignment on messaging, timing, and audience. [10%]
