Senior Development & Construction ManagerChallenger School 3 Sandy, UtahChallenger School is seeking an experienced Senior Development & Construction Manager to join our team at our Corporate Headquarters in Sandy, Utah.
This senior individual-contributor role serves as Challenger's owner's representative for construction, remodel, and playground projects nationwide. The position has no current direct reports but leads architects, engineers, contractors, consultants, and vendors.
On-site only. This position is not eligible for remote or hybrid work.Responsibilities- Lead multiple projects from planning and design through permitting, construction, closeout, and warranty.
- Direct architects, engineers, contractors, consultants, and vendors while protecting Challenger's budget, schedule, standards, and long-term interests.
- Manage scopes, budgets, schedules, bids, contracts, payment applications, change orders, and project closeout.
- Review drawings and field conditions for constructability, coordination, safety, durability, maintainability, and lifecycle value.
- Manage work on occupied campuses, including projects completed within compressed summer schedules.
- Lead playground design and safety activities and support zoning, entitlements, public approvals, site evaluation, due diligence, and other development work.
Experience and Skills- Typically 10+ years of owner-side or owner's-representative experience in commercial or institutional design and construction.
- Experience with multi-site, prototype, or repeat-location programs and ground-up construction.
- Direct responsibility for project budgets, contracts, change orders, payment applications, and closeout.
- Strong working knowledge of architectural, civil, structural, MEP, fire/life-safety, accessibility, and site-development coordination.
- Exceptional judgment, attention to detail, follow-through, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent progressively responsible experience; CPSI credential or ability to obtain within 90 days; ability to travel nationwide, commonly 50% or more during peak periods.
