Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering; P.E. license preferred; 8+ years experience in related field.
• Strong working knowledge of HVAC design and system operations.
• Effective communication skills with management, contractors, and clients.
• Proficient in reading mechanical and plumbing drawings.
• Competent in business writing, public speaking, and basic computer skills.
• Familiarity with CADD, Trane Software, and Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
• Solid understanding of the engineering industry.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage design engineers in HVAC system design and documentation.
• Oversee preconstruction activities and the design process for projects.
• Prepare preliminary design layouts for estimating purposes.
• Provide technical guidance to the engineering team for project and standards development.
• Ensure quality of work produced by the design engineering group.
• Participate in conceptual design for specific projects.
• Act as a design professional representative at project meetings.
