About the Role

Redhorse is transforming how the Department of Defense (DoD) utilizes data and technology. We are seeking a highly skilled Senior-Level Data Scientist to join our team supporting the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition & Sustainment (OUSD(A&S)). You will play a critical role in advancing data-driven decision-making across the DoD, designing and implementing robust data solutions that directly impact national security initiatives and investments. This is a high-impact position offering significant opportunity to shape the future of DoD data management and analytics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support acquisition missions by extracting insights from structured and unstructured datasets.
  • Build predictive and prescriptive models to inform decision-makers and commanders.
  • Translate analytic outputs into clear, mission-relevant recommendations.
  • Develop machine learning, statistical, and optimization models.
  • Conduct feature engineering, validation, and performance tuning.
  • Clean, normalize, and integrate data from multiple classified and unclassified sources.
  • Ensure compliance with data governance standards aligned with DoD data strategies.
  • Understand how enterprise-level efforts align with the DoW Data Strategy.


Required Experience/Clearance

  • Bachelor's degree plus 7+ years of experience, or a Master's degree plus 5+ years of experience.
  • Experience with big data systems, including Apache Spark and Databricks.
  • Experience with ETL processes.
  • Experience with the Advana Data Environment.
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or MilCloud 2.0.
  • Experience engineering data pipelines across multiple security domains/classified networks.
  • Experience with multiple coding languages.
  • Active Secret security clearance.
