Full Job Description
Senior Corporate Tooling Manager

ROLE:

Designing pattern gating utilizing foundry casting principles and casting simulation software to produce parts consistent with plant quality and production goals.

RESPONSIBILITES/DUTIES:

  • Answer questions on tooling builds and solutions to fix mistakes.
  • Fill in areas of tooling engineering that are behind or on vacations.
  • Quote rapid proto work for plants.
  • Lead tooling improvement cost reduction projects (EVC/VCP development).

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 12 years of experience designing/building tooling.
  • Gating/riser experience.
  • Experience managing employees.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, tooling design, or related field required, masters preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of VMM, core, and mill room tooling.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprint drawings.
  • Ability to work with and lead a team of multiple disciplines.
  • Ability to read and understand cost sheets.
  • Working knowledge of cast iron metallurgy.
  • Understanding of tool steels and their heat treatments.
  • Must possess good written and oral communication skills.
  • Employ critical thinking, logic, and reasoning to troubleshoot and solve problems.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare and present performance reviews.
  • Oversee safety and 6s programs.
  • Oversee training program.
  • Training other personnel as required.
  • Ensure department profitability/VCP goals are met.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
