Full Job Description
JOB OVERVIEW

The Senior Corporate Strategist is the analytical engine behind Serve's enterprise partnerships and many of our core internal strategic decisions. The role produces the research, models, and materials that make a decision or partnership case credible to a counterparty's deal team, and independently owns discrete workstreams on questions such as market entry and city sequencing, build-versus-buy-versus-partner, competitive positioning, etc. The role independently frames open-ended questions, builds rigorous analyses, and turns findings into the meeting briefs, decks/models and recommendations that help leadership make decisions and win consequential deals.

The position creates value by turning messy inputs - public filings, earnings calls, industry reports, expert conversations, Serve's operating data, partner information, and internal technical context - into a defensible point of view and a compelling story (i.e. this role needs to be able to synthesize data, identify opportunities, and develop pithy and compelling pitch).

This position supports enterprise and new-vertical opportunities, robotics, data and teleoperation offerings, autonomy adjacencies, and other net-new bets, plus cross-functional strategic inquiries from the broader company.

JOB DUTIES
  • Run deep-dive research on target enterprises and markets, covering business model, cost structure, competitive pressures, existing partnerships, technology roadmap, procurement dynamics, and stated strategy.
  • Build market sizing, pricing, cost-to-serve, unit economics, and scenario models from scratch.
  • Build exceptional strategy decks end to end: frame the argument, develop the storyline, select the evidence, and create the charts and slides that make a complex opportunity persuasive to a senior audience. Be equally comfortable producing a three-page partner proposal, a board-level decision slide, or a detailed analytical appendix.
  • Own discrete workstreams on internal strategic questions, including market entry and city sequencing, build-versus-buy-versus-partner analysis, competitive positioning, and capital allocation tradeoffs.
  • Synthesize messy inputs such as public filings, earnings calls, industry reports, expert calls, and Serve's own operating data into a clear point of view with a recommendation attached.
  • Build materials for board, investor, and executive audiences that a senior reader can follow without narration.
  • Track the autonomous delivery, last-mile logistics, robotics, and adjacent mobility landscape, and flag what matters rather than forwarding everything.
  • Evaluate the scale, feasibility, and resource requirements of new bets, including potential revenue or strategic value, partner funding, engineering and operating burden, time to proof, and the milestones that justify further investment, scaling, handoff, or stopping work.
  • Manage a small portfolio of fast-moving workstreams with the Chief Strategy Officer setting priorities; coordinate requests from the Director and other commercial or functional leaders, flag tradeoffs early, and keep critical follow-ups from disappearing between meetings. Deliver useful first answers quickly, then deepen the work where additional precision changes the decision.

EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS, & SKILLS

Required Experience, Qualifications, and Skills
  • 3 to 8 years of experience with a meaningful stretch in management consulting, corporate strategy, or similar.
  • Strong research instincts, with demonstrated ability to move from no knowledge of a company to a defensible thesis within roughly a week.
  • Modeling ability in Excel that goes beyond maintaining or formatting someone else's model, including building from scratch and defending every assumption.
  • Slide craft sufficient to build a deck that a C-suite audience can follow without narration.
  • Clear writing, with the ability to construct and defend an argument in prose.
  • Judgment to manage competing priorities across two senior stakeholders and to escalate early when they collide.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and with having a conclusion challenged, then reworking it.
  • Independent thinker.
  • Comfort with big open ended questions is a must-have: "We've got 10 product features to prioritize, which one do we do first and why?" or "A company in Europe wants us to do X, should we?" are the kind of questions whomever is in this role should feel comfortable and excited about tackling.

Preferred Experience, Qualifications, and Skills
  • MBA or equivalent analytical training
  • Startup, Logistics, last-mile delivery, marketplace, mobility, or robotics exposure.
  • Experience supporting senior executives on high-stakes partner meetings and commercial negotiations at a high-growth company.
  • Previous consulting, banking, or other similar analytically rigorous strategy function, a plus

Additional Information
  • The position offers a direct line from analysis to signed commercial agreements alongside standing exposure to the Chief Strategy Officer on questions that shape the company, on a small team with no staffing process.
  • Work is largely self-managed, with shifting priorities and periods of intensity around live pitches, negotiations, board or executive decisions, and new opportunities.
  • Within the first 12 months, success means leadership consistently enters priority meetings with a clear, evidence-backed position; models materially improve pricing, funding, and deal choices; proposals carry a compelling, defensible story; follow-ups and decisions stay organized; and independent recommendations influence which opportunities Serve pursues, funds, scales, hands off, or stops.
  • The position is remote, open across the US and Canada, with light travel of roughly 10% for company gatherings and occasional conferences.
